It was a suicide mission

There were three things I knew, and I knew for a fact:

One, we were going to die,

Two, it might just be worth it,

And three, if we were going down, we were going down fighting.

--

I knew going in we had not a prayer in the world. We never had a prayer; it was how we rolled. I was still getting used to the idea that we didn't have a fighting chance. It was one thing to put ourselves in danger, which, were it up to Emmett, we would do on a daily basis, but wholly another to bring the two volunteer wolves into this; they were just children, after all.

Fighting them, of course, was never ever a good idea. They had strength in every way I could think of; numbers, skill, and even speed. We, however, had love, which just might be enough to pull this thing off. At least, that's what I was hoping.

Of course, we couldn't be prepared for much; my abilities were all fuzzy and out of focus due to some mysterious being... Being blind like this wasn't good for us; we couldn't be prepared for everything.

We were all paired off: me and Jazz, Rose and Emm, Edward and Bella, Jacob and Leah, and Carlisle and Esme. The theme of the scenario seemed to be more like lovey-dovey farewell than the jacked-up battle I'd wanted to happen. All the pairs were couples, except of course.

Kissing seemed to be the thing; almost every couple was immersed in a passionate kiss except us. I glanced over at Jasper who nodded. The plan was in action.

Jasper stomped twice on the solid turf. I clapped. He stomped twice again. I clapped again. The others eyes flared in recognition. I was starting the best pep rally in the history of vampire/werewolf kind.

I nodded to Jasper and Emmett. "Buddy you're a boy, make a big noise. Playin' in the street gonna be a big man some day. You got mud on your face, you big disgrace. Kickin' your can all over the place." They sang in harmony, both voices boomingly low and kind of fuzzy, almost homey, in any other situation.

Everybody joined in at the chorus. "We will, we will rock you. We will, we will rock you." It was altogether awesome.

Leah and Bella joined me for the second verse. Leah was a nice alto, as was Bella, so I got to have fun on the top notes. "Buddy you're a young man, hard man. Shoutin' in the street gonna take on the world some day. You got blood on you face, you big disgrace. Wavin' your banner all over the place."

Everyone was together again. "We will, we will rock you. We will, we will rock you." Most people were dancing now, and even Carlisle had started an awkward little boogie-type dance.

The last verse was one for the records; Edward, Jacob and Rose all did the last one together. Without a fight breaking out. "Buddy you're an old man, poor man. Pleadin' with your eyes gonna make you some peace some day. You got mud on your face, you big disgrace. Somebody better put you back in your place." Rose was dancing with Jacob, which was just downright adorable, and Edward grabbed Leah. Emmett had somehow taken Bella, leaving me with Carlisle while Esme danced with Jasper.

"We will, we will rock you! We will, we will rock you!"

And with that, a part of me became sure that I wasn't going to die today.
