"Daddy," The little girl, golden curls shining in the lamplight, cuddled into her father's arms. "Tell me about my Mama."

He smiled, kissing her forehead. "Your Mama is, like you, from a very special place - a place that is far away - and, just
like you, she's very special."

"She's an...'Lauran." The child supplied brightly. "Like me? Right?"

"An *El-Aurian*, yes." Her father affirmed, enunciating the word carefully. "But remember..."

"I know, I know. *Don't tell anyone*." She recited the oft-heard warning obediently. "I won't, I promise." Resting her cheek
against his shoulder, she asked. "Where's Mama?"

"She had to go to home, just for a little while," he replied. "And the trip is very long..."

"But she is coming back, right?" The little girl asked anxiously. "She didn't leave me for good, right? She wouldn't, would
she?"

"No, Chloe. Your Mama would never leave you. She's coming back. She promised and Mama keeps her promises.."
