"Ashlyn, I told you we can't do this now" Joe whined, trying to get out of my grip as I lead him to the back of the Jonas tour bus, a plush couch awaiting us. It was no use, as soon as I stood at the foot of the bed, Joe obediently lay down, face up. Both my knees slid to either sides of his body, my hands feeling the chiseled torso beneath his tight black T shirt. I swiftly tucked a strand of raven colored hair behind my ear before leaning down, planting a lingering kiss onto his perfect lips. "You still have 15 minutes before your concert start, that's the perfect amount of time" I whispered softly, biting down on my bottom lip, eager for what I hoped would come next. Kissing him again, I could feel the Joe's apprehension melt away, his tongue trusting me more and more. One of his muscular hands crept its way in the back of my shirt, and I soon felt the coldness of the metal band around his finger, the reason why I knew deep down we would never be truly together.
"Ashlyn. . .stop, I can't do this" Joe heaved, trying to catch his breath. I pursed my lips together, damning that purity ring he had with every fiber of my being.
"You know, Joe, do you really want to be with me?" I pleaded with large, almost-violet eyes.
His expression changed instinctively, the kind of face a mother has when a child asks if getting a shot will hurt, when the mother knows it will.
"Of course I do, I just, think it's too soon for us to. . .you know" he half chuckled, although I was anything but laughing. This Joe-being-a-tease thing, was getting old. Sometimes, I wonder if there could be something more than this, more than just waiting for Joe to come around.

"Whatever. Um, you better go, people are waiting"

He quickly rolled out from under me, kissing my cheek, and leaping out of the room. I waited, in the back, like always.

"OKAY I GOT-Ashlyn? Why aren't you in the venue?" Kevin's voice rung in my ears, I glanced up to see the sweet, soft spoken 21 year old, heading for the guitar that rested against the wall.

"Um, you know, the noise always gets to me" I said lamely. Kevin's laugh filled the room as he grabbed his guitar neck with one hand, my hand with the other. "Come on, you can sit in my dressing room, it's no fun without you around, Ash"

I grinned widely as his arm fit snugly around my shoulders, his newly straightened brown hair lightly brushing the side of my face. Kevin was always looking out for me, during the whole 10 months that we and Joe were dating. I couldn't have asked for a sweeter, more adorable friend.

Because that's all I thought of him as, just a friend.

But that all changed with the scarlet ring.
