Hiya! This is my very first fic! Usually i dont really read songfics so its a bit bizarre im writing one...anyway, the idea popped into my head one day when listening to this song. It's Hello by Evanescence. Sry bout it being so short. I'm not in 'writing mood' often enough to make long fics shrugs. Ryou heard the school bell as if in a dream, calling him to wakefulness. Darkness faded to a shadowed alley. Rain clouds above released the soft pattering that promises a storm. The water was cold against his pale skin as he dropped to his knees. The afternoon light, diminished by clouds, made Ryou feel like he was still dreaming. In front of him sprawled a woman, lower half bare, blouse ripped open, her face turned away with long locks spread out over the filthy concrete. Each strand seemed carefully placed. She wasn't breathing. Fear clutched at his insides. He couldn't remember how he got here or what the hell had happened. Shadows shifted and goosebumps crawled across his skin as an overwhelming dread settled in the pit of his stomach. /Hello Ryou/ a husky voice whispered. Turning with a start, Ryou saw no one.

A low chuckle weaved around him. /I am in your head for I am you. I can control you and you are here now because I've had my fun with the little lady there./ "You did this? She's dead!" /I know she is. But in reality you did this Little Ryou. After all I am part of you and other people can't hear me./ Ryou's quivering hands covered his eyes as a disbelieving smile curled his rain-wet lips, "I'm going crazy. This isn't real. It's just a nightmare. Your just my imagination." /Foolish host! I am you – the dark side of you. I taste everything that you deny. I live while you cower behind that pitiful lie you call a life. I am the other you. None can destroy me. I'm not a bone you can splint. I'm here to stay./ Hot tears mingled with the heavy rain as Ryou tilted his face to the sky. He couldn't cope with this impossibility on top of his other problems. He felt like bawling like a 2 year old. /Don't cry, Little Ryou/ caressed the voice almost tenderly. The boy sniffed and went to wipe away the unrelenting tears and rain when his hand brushed against the icy body.

The shaking was getting uncontrollable. It was all real: the dead woman, this other being, everything. What had happened to the life he had yesterday? Ryou curled into a shivering ball, hiding his face between his knees, his sopping hair acting like a curtain. /The darkness can hide you from the pain, little one/ enticed the being that was his other/Just surrender./ Ryou was good at hiding, disappearing. He did it often – hiding pain behind a smile, hiding vulnerabilities under long sleeves. /Surrender./ Would there be something of normality left tomorrow? Would he still remain/Surrender./ There was only a small pause. Ryou smiled sadly, "Hide me Yami." He opened his arms to the darkness and it eagerly consumed him.
