Awakening,

First chapter, Revelation
It was morning, I hadn't slept all night, the thoughts of endless despair cycling through my mind.
It has been 30 years since it happened, though it has only been 3 days since I found out about it. I could hear foot steps outside my tent, they where on their way toward me, about 100 yards away and closing two feet a second. How could I know? My hearing was sharpened 10 fold at least by the incident,, among other things, such as my agility and reflexes.
The incident I am referring to, is what has become known as the (thought 2). An organization known as (Thought 1) had attempted a hostile take over on the planet. They succeeded, the earth came to a freezing halt, literally. There where many attacks, I don't remember them well, just flashes, people screaming, the sheer terror around me, and then, I was hit. Coated in some metallic alloy I had never seen before, first my legs, then it spread, eventually consuming my whole body. I was frozen, in suspended animation. The attacks where not something most people would expect.
Apparently they where a small organization, little money, much too poor to afford conventional weapons, such as nuclear warheads and guns. They developed the metal alloy, it was something no one had ever seen before, their plan was to freeze the whole world in suspended animation, and kill them with radiation, then repopulate, and rule under their law, free of religion, racism, and freedom.
Their plan seemed flawless, it would be quick, easy, and free. They were too hasty with their project, they got careless and did not monitor the reaction of the radiation and the metal alloy with human DNA. Radiation does not always result in death, it can some times result in mutations, and that is the case with me, the radiation changed my DNA, now I am what is known in this world as one of the awakened.
