It's getting harder and harder to keep up with the acting, to keep pretending that everything he says and does isn't completely sincere, to keep lying about his true feelings for his twin. Maybe it's time to put some distance between them so he can get his head on straight. HikaruXKaoru. M for taboo themes such as incest and because this story could easily get citrusy

"Kaoru? Are you listening to me?"

Kaoru starts at the sound of his twin brother's voice, a slight flush covering the apples of his cheeks at being caught daydreaming during their host duties. It isn't the first time this has happened, his mind slipping away from him, it's just hard to keep himself rooted in reality when his own little fantasy world is calling his name in a tone like soft, crushed velvet.

"There you go again," Hikaru says, voice dropping into the sweet accent used only for his twin. Kaoru doesn't even hear the host club's clients squealing over the beating of his own heart in his ears as Hikaru pulls him closer, one hand on the small of his back and the other curling around his chin to tilt his head up. "Don't lose yourself in a world of make-believe when I'm right here, Kaoru. Just stay here with me forever."

"If I stay here, can I truly stay with you forever, Hikaru?" the words spill out of his lips before he can stop them, change them, make them into something farther from his true desire.

It's truly a testament to their acting skills that no one notices the hint of desperation in Kaoru's voice and the scene finishes as usual with more sweet words from Hikaru and flushed stutters from Kaoru.

But as the girls leave, so does the warmth of Hikaru's hand on the small of his back, the cinnamon scent of his cologne, the loving gaze that could fool anyone but his twin who looks at him with nothing but sincerity during their daily time entertaining at the host club.

Hello everyone~ I'm gonna start off by saying, it's better if you start off right now thinking that this story will never be updated. That way there'll be no disappointment when it takes me months at a time to get around to working on this fic. Secondly, reviews/comments are extremely appreciated and will probably do a lot in giving me motivation for updating this story quicker. As is, if it doesn't seem to be getting too much attention, this'll just stay as a fun little thing to do when the random urge for twincest hits me.

If you're here because you've read some of my other stories and were hoping for an update on those, I'm sorry, but for now at least, consider my other fics on this site discontinued.

Sorry for leaving an author's note as long as the prologue, but now that that's all out, there shouldn't be too many more of these.
