The Wait
The perpetual motion of the hands of the clock had him sitting on the edge of his seat. It seemed that time was slowing down with each click of the hand, but he couldn't take his eyes off the clock. It had been three hours now and still no one emerged from the double doors to let him know how his brother was doing. His breathing was short and fast and his heart was beating so hard he thought it might explode from his chest. This couldn't be happening, their plan had been perfect but one tiny surprise destroyed everything and now his brother was on an operating table fighting for his life. Why couldn't time move faster?
