Another Thomas rewrite, this time it's "One Good Turn" from Season 3. Enjoy and comment.
Bill and Ben are the most mischievous engines on the Island of Sodor.
They always are busy, pushing and pulling cars up and down the line that runs from the china clay works, to the harbor.
They like to have fun together, and often pull tricks on the workmen.
But often, this leads them to trouble.
One morning, Sir Topham Hatt came to see them.
"Important goods have arrived in the big yard. I need you two to help the other engines."
"Yes sir! Of course sir!" replied the twins as they set off on their important mission.
BoCo was resting in the yard, when he was awoken by the sound of whistles.
"Oh dear." sighed BoCo. "Here comes trouble."
"Sir Topham Hatt told us your were tired!" teased Bill. "He asked us to take all your cars!"
"You two never stop, do you? I'm wise to your pranks. However, we do need help here."
The twins were soon busy, pushing and pulling the heavy cars into place.
At last, the day's work was done.
The twins then became excited. They were going to use the turntable for the first time.
Bill went first.
"This is fun!" he exclaimed to Ben.
He didn't want to move at all.
The foreman stopped the turntable.
"Please make way for the other engines!" he ordered.
Bill did, but the foreman had accidently stopped the turntable in the wrong place!
Bill was now on the wrong track!
Worse, Ben was coming right towards him!
The engines came to a grinding halt, and stared at each-other.
"I was here first!" said Bill,
"You're in my way!" protested Ben. "You'll have to back up again!"
"I won't!"
"You will!"
"I won't!"
Only Sir Topham Hatt was able to stop the arguing.
"If you keep arguing, I will forbid you from coming here ever again!"
The next day, Ben was still grumpy.
"That Bill is always getting in my way on the turntable! He's a really silly engine!"
"The way I've heard it." sighed BoCo, "it sounded like you were both to blame."
"You must have heard it all wrong!"
The twins grumbled all day.
Even kind Edward lost his patience.
"All this bad energy causes confusion and delay!"
"You're quite right." said BoCo. "That's why I've come up with a plan."
BoCo told Edward his plan, and Edward's driver and fireman told Sir Topham Hatt.
"I'll start making arrangements right away!" said Sir Topham Hatt.
The next morning, he called Bill and Ben into the yard.
"BoCo is taking a special train to the harbor. His regular heavy goods train is waiting on the siding. You must pull it together.
"But why?" protested Bill and Ben.
"Really useful engines never argue and do as they are told! But I am counting on you two to get this job done right."
"I'll take the train myself!" huffed Ben.
"Go right ahead!" said Bill.
Ben was soon coupled up to the heavy goods train, but they were too heavy for him to move alone.
"Go on!" teased Bill.
"I can't!" said Ben.
Then both twins began to laugh!
"I don't think we'll take turns this time!" said Bill. "Come on, let's pull this train together!"
Ben was delighted.
It's always good to help each-other, and best of all, Bill and Ben got the job done, and were now friends again.
