"Amy, come on!" called the Doctor into the TARDIS, "We're late as it is." The door opened and Amy stepped out. She had curled her hair and pinned it up, very Victorian, the Doctor thought. Her blue dress rustled as she moved. It was only after he finished taking in her appearance that he noticed she was bleeding. "Amy! Are you all right?" he cried. She glowered at him.

"No, I've just been walking through your time machine with a bloody nose for five minutes!" she said sarcastically. The Doctor took her wrists in his hands and pulled her down to sit beside him on the ground.

"What happened?" he asked gently, inspecting her nose. She felt suddenly self-conscious that his face was so close to hers.

"Err… I was trying to go up the stairs to leave the wardrobe and I tripped and fell on my face." She said. The Doctor snorted quietly and Amy poked him hard.

"Sorry, sorry!" he chuckled, "That's just so… You." He prodded her nose lightly and pulled out his sonic screwdriver. She fell back, a horrified look on her face. "What?" he asked, looking at her innocently.

"Doctor, a bloody nose isn't something you use a sonic screwdriver on!" she gaped. He looked at her then his screwdriver then back again before slipping it slowly back into his pocket.

"Then how do we treat it?" he asked. She looked at him incredulously.

"You don't know how to fix a bloody nose?" she questioned. The Doctor shook his head. She sighed. "Well, when I was really little and I got a bloody nose, my mum gave me a hankie and made me pinch the bridge of my nose." The Doctor handed her a hankie and she smiled at him. He grinned back as she wiped and pinched her nose. After a minute, she pulled her hands away and the Doctor inspected her nose again.

"It's not bleeding… but it's red… and kind of swollen." He said.

"Well…" Amy began, blushing, "My mum also used to…"

"Used to what?" he asked.

"She used to give me a kiss if it was red." She mumbled. The Doctor made a brief noise. Amy felt her face growing redder and redder in the chilly winter air, but not because of the weather. He took her face gently in his hands and leaned forward, and Amy expected him to kiss her nose. Instead, he crashed his lips onto hers. Her eyes widened momentarily but after a moment, her hands tangled in his hair and she kissed him back. After a few moments, they pulled out of the kiss and he rested his forehead on hers.

"Well?" he asked.

"That was good. But Mum kissed me where it hurt." She giggled. The Doctor looked embarrassed. "Not that I'm complaining." She jumped up and held her hand out. "Shall we?" Looking up at her, the Doctor smiled and jumped up beside her. He took her hand and grinned that mad grin of his.

"We shall." Before they sprinted off though, he kissed her on the cheek lightly.
