Wanda pov

Everything was dark before my eyes. The kind of dark that you get when someone is holding their hands against your eyes. I guessed Ian, Jamie or Jared. Probably not Melanie.

"Ian?" I asked. No answer. "Jared? Jamie?" Still no answer. "Melanie?"

"Write those names down. Those are probably the humans she ran away with." I hear a strange voice whisper. She, definitely a woman, said the word human like she was scared of it. But that made no sense. The only ones scared of humans are… Souls. Seekers.

"She's awake I can feel her whimpers against my hands" A man soul said behind me.

"Wanderer? You are safe here. We saved you from the humans." Saved? They saved me from the humans? I wanted to scream that humans weren't evil, they are good.

But I kept silent, silence seemed safe. Again. How ironic. There was only one difference. Now I was truly alone. No Melanie. If she was here, she would've fight, get us out of here.

But I was alone and I couldn't fight.

They told me I was back where I belonged. They couldn't have been more wrong. I belonged with the humans. With Jeb, Jamie, Jared , Melanie… Ian. Ian. I could imagine his reaction when he saw I wasn't in our room. First he'd check Jamie's room, because sometimes I sleep there. Then he would go to the kitchen and the fields, thinking I went working. And after he checked the bathroom he would panic. He would wake Jared first. They would search together. And then when they couldn't find me, they would wake everyone up to make a plan to get me back. Jared would've tried to let Jamie out of it but, I wouldn't have worked. They would plan a rescue mission.

"She's crying" I heard the female soul say.

That night I dreamt about Ian. In my dreams there were no souls, only humans. Ian was human, I was human. We were talking. I don't remember about what, but we were laughing. I didn't want to wake up. But someone shook my arm.

"Wake up Wanderer" The female soul said. "We just want to ask you some questions"

I opened my eyes. I didn't know how I was going to survive this questioning, so I decided to do what Melanie would do. Answer every question with a question.

"Is it okay if we ask you some questions?" the female souls said. "Your name is Wanderer, right?" she asked.

"Yes and yours?"

"Selena. How many wild bodies were out there?"

"Human. They're humans. Not just bodies" and I think they deserve to life, I toughed.

She, Selena, decides to go straight to the point. "Can you lead us to the bo… humans?" she asked.

How could they not know where they were? They found me!

"How… Where did you find me?"I asked.

"You were found on the road, alone. In a car filled with food"

I smiled. As long as I didn't speak, my real family was safe. I just have to stay quit.

"So can you lead us there?" Selena asked.

I knew I couldn't lie, so I told the truth, sort of. "No, I can't. They blinded me so I couldn't see the entrance." I said.

"So it was a building?" Selena said. Then she looked at me.

"It is going to be okay, Wanderer. We will make sure that the humans can't take you again." It sounded sweet. It was supposed to calm me down, but it didn't.

I chose to die on this planet, to die with my true family that saw me as a individual. With my human family.

I could, again, feel tears streaming down my face.
