Alrighty then. This is my SECOND! Count em, two! X-men fanfiction up here. Do not flame me for the pairing (TASHA) as I will shoot you in the face. Thank you and enjoy.

It was a typical field trip. Well, as typical as you can get when you're a mutant in the middle of the woods.
"What is all this about, anyway?" Bobby griped, zapping a fly with his ice. "This is boring."
"Like, quit complaining, Bobby! It won't take that long if we just do it." Kitty glared at the boy, crossing her arms. Bobby laughed.
"I can't take you seriously when you have leaves in your hair."
"Ugh! Just... shut up and help me find these minerals!"
About an hour passed before they collected all the minerals. By then, Kitty was ready to phase Bobby into a tree and leave him there.
"Shut up, Bobby! You're, like, seriously being obnoxious!"
To her surprise, Bobby stopped.
"Look, I'm sorry, Kitty. I'm just, well, bored."
"Yeah, I know. Hey, why don't we go find someplace to hang out? I bet there are lots of cool places here."
"Alright!"
They walked in silence for a few moments.
"So, any training sessions with Logan lately?" Bobby asked. Kitty made a face.
"Unfortunately."
He laughed. They caught each other's gaze, and he stopped, his cheeks flaming up. They looked away.
Kitty bit her lip and snuck a glance at him. She wasn't one to lie- she'd been fighting feelings for the icy-hot boy for a while now, even though he had a habit of annoying the crap out of her.
"Hey, a river!" Bobby cheered, just out of the blue. "Sweet! Wanna see a trick, Kitty?" Not waiting for an answer, he jumped in, making a huge splash. Then he froze it, and little droplets of frozen water landed with small plink sounds.
"Hey, that's actually pretty cool." Kitty said, smiling. Bobby grinned.
"Watch this!" He pointed his hands and started making something from the ground up.
"What is it?" Kitty asked after a moment. He winked.
"It's a surprise- dang it, I can't reach. I'll be right back." He rose himself up, but, like an idiot, fell off the slide into a tree.
"Bobby! Are you alright?" She ran over to him as he sat up.
"Sure, if there are supposed to be two of you." He groaned. She sighed in relief.
"Good, you're okay. What made you fall? You almost never fall."
"I guess I... uh, got distracted." He stammered.
They looked at each other for a moment.
"Look, Kitty, there's something I've been meaning to say," Bobby started. "I know I'm kinda the goof-off in school and at the institute, but there's one thing I'm really serious about, and it's... well, um, Kitty, I have a huge crush on you, and I kinda want to know if you like me back."
Kitty was silent for a moment. His eyes went down.
"Oh."
"Bobby, you're an idiot. I, like, totally like you." Kitty grinned, her eyes twinkling with mirth. "I just like giving you a taste of your own medicine."
He pouted.
"That's not very nice. Medicine is gross."
Kitty burst out laughing.
"Hey, close your eyes." He ordered, standing. She obliged. There was a russling, a small crash, and a "Uuuurrrrnnng!" before she was allowed to open them.
"Oh, wow." She said, looking. It was a huge ice rose with "Kitty Pryde" across the bottom in icy cursive.
"Like it?" He asked.
"I love it!" She hugged him.
"You and that rose have a lot in common."
"Like?"
"You're both pretty, people like to stop and stare, and you both have your thorns."
"Thanks?"
"But the thing is, if you work hard enough, you learn how to get past them."
"Like you did."
"Like I did."

Okay, you know what, flame this story all you want, it sucks. It lacks everything, especially a good ending. Maybe someday I can fix it, but... Jeez, just shoot me.
