ping!
The sound echoed through the jungle, rippling off of trees and creating a vague image.
" Listen. You probably hate me. I know that-"
A dim shape was "visible", arched and hissing, as inky black as the night itself.
"-You definitely hate me. Don't worry, I hate me as well."
The image began to become blurry, as the sound faded into background noise. The figure approached, hand-equivalent outreached in a claw, snarling.
ping!
The night colored figure recoiled, as if in pain.
" You-, listen. I'm sorry. It's meaningless, really, saying it won't help-"
It hissed again, like a pitch black cat, yet not out of fear. It did not seem feral, more deliberately angry, as it seemed to swell to its full height.
"Listen! I know I am at fault here. But, I want to help you. We- no, you, didn't deserve this. And I hurt you-"
It seemed infuriated now, lithe form moving upwards, swiftly at an inhuman speed, shape now vaguely perched on a long branch, claws outstretched in a deadly way. The image blurred at the movement and rustling of leaves...
ping!
It recoiled again, slinking back like a shadow at noon.
" I don't know how, but I want to help you. I've ruined most everything. You can still hate me, I understand, we all do. But I want to fix this sin. "
Silence. Dead silence. The figure quivered, before lunging once more, claw out-turned for his jugular vein. Yet the impact was soft, restrained, and the only wound was a dull scratch that weeped fluid as black as night.
ping!
"I'm not sure what to take that restraint as. But, I want to help you. I am glad you did not kill me, despite how much you wish to."
The figure was already slinking away, retreating into the darkness. It did not make a sound as it left, peacefully. The darkness peeled back, as dawn shone through the canopy.
