Chapter 1: The mysterious boy.
She looked at him and tried to smile. She was afraid the darkness would return to the island when he took off, but she didn't say anything. She didn't want to worry him to much. Instead she faked a smile, and said "Take care of yourself, Sora." He laughed and answered "You too, Kairi. I don't want to lose you this time." As he sailed away the tears started to fall, and she turned around. Kairi woke up in her room, the sun was rising outside her window. She had had the same dream every night since Sora left the island. It was long ago now, and she started to wonder if he'd ever come back. She scratched her hair and walked over to the window. The weather looked nice, and it seemed to become a pretty warm summer day. As she stood there enjoying the view over the beach, Kairi noticed a strange looking boy. She'd never seen him before. Who was he? She jumped down the stairs and out into the garden, and kept on walking till she reached the beach. She started searching for the boy, but he was nowhere to be found, and she drew a sigh and sat down in the sand.
Seconds later she was pushed over and attacked by something. She screamed, and the attacker stopped immediately. "I'm sorry, I thought you were someone else." The attacker moved aside, and Kairi pulled herself up from the sand. Then she almost stopped breathing for a moment, and her heart was beating so fast. It was the boy she had seen earlier. Where had he been hiding? And why had he mistaken her for being someone else? It was not until now she noticed that he didn't look anything like the other boys on the island. In fact, he looked like he belonged in another world.
