A.N: Something I wrote when I was having some bad days, dealing with the soon upcoming of my dogs death. The title was inspired by a poem on ficrionpress by forsakensmile, called "Laika."

Dislaimer: Alas... these characters and universe is not mine.

The hot water coming out of the shower is making a lot of steam, so much steam that Harry can't see anything in the small bathroom. Not that it's really a big deal, because he can't see that well without the glasses. And even if he did put them on, it would be quite difficult to see anything anyway. He doesn't have to put the glasses on to know that the steam would cloud them.

If he was at Howarts then it wouldn't be a problem. Then he could just cast a spell on the glasses to make sure that the steam wouldn't cloud them. Just like that spell kept water away on his glasses when he was playing Quidditch.

But now he's with his family in Surrey, and he isn't allowed to practise magic, no matter how inconvenient it is for him. No special treatment for the prince, as Snape would say. He closes his eyes as yet another wave of anger comes riding over him at the thought of the Potions Master.

As the water continues to pour over him, he fights to remain control, to refrain from crying out his anger and frustrations. Earlier today he almost lost control, and he cannot afford a mistake like that now. There is too much at stake, way too much...

He opens his eyes, takes deep, painfully slow breaths. He struggles to not paint the picture of a smirking Snape standing in front of him. The bastard is probably happy that Sirius is gone. It is okay that they were never the best friends, and probably never would be. But there is a big difference between not being friends and causing the other person's death.

Because he is responsible, just as Harry is responsible, Bellatrix Lestrange and above all, so is Voldemort.

If Snape had actually been able to let the past go just enough then maybe Sirius would be alive now. Maybe if Harry had listened to Hermione, Sirius would still be among the living. If Bellatrix hadn't been so lucky then maybe Sirius would have a clear name and be free and alive. Maybe if Voldemort hadn't put so much into a prophecy which he hadn't heard then maybe neither Sirius or Harry's parents would be dead.

Maybe...
