JAG Headquarters

Washington D.C.

Hi, my name is Sarah Mackenzie. I am a Colonel in the United States

Marine Corps. My current duty station is the JAG (Judge Advocate General)

headquarters. I am a lawyer. I was just released from prison. My fiance's

ex-girlfriend who married my ex-fiance just tried to pin my ex-fiance's

murder on me. Confused yet? Just follow along and you will soon understand.

It all started one week ago when my ex-fiance Mic Brumby called to tell

me that he was back in town, and he wanted to see me. When I hesitated because

I am engaged to his biggest rival, he told me was married. I was sooo

relieved and yet a twinge of jealousy hit me. I said I couldn't see him but

I wanted to talk and catch up. I was wondering what he had been doing the

past few years. We talked on the phone for almost two hours. All of this

happened at work with my fiance in the next office. This is how the

conversation went:

ME: When did you get into town?

MIC: A couple of weeks ago. I tried calling you at home, but the line has

been disconnected.

ME: Yeah, I have moved in with my fiance. I have been living with him for

about a month now.

MIC: Oh, who's your fiance?

ME: Harm. (Pause) I know how much you two hate each other, but I also know

I have loved him for as long as I can remember. I kissed

him even after we were engaged. I kissed him at our engagement party at the

Admiral's house.

MIC: Oh really? So you never really loved me?

ME: I don't know. I don't want to talk about it. I'm engaged again and you're

married. By the way, who is your wife? Do I know her?

MIC: Yes, you know her. It's Renee.

ME: Wait a minute. Renee, as in Harm's old girlfriend Renee?

MIC: Yes, do you have a problem with that?

ME: I guess I have no say in the matter. I'm engaged to Harm and you're married

to Renee.

MIC: I've reopened my law firm, so we may be seeing each other around.

ME: Until then, we will be going on with our daily lives. It was nice talking

to you again Mic.

MIC: Bye.

And we hung up. I thought that would be the last of it. I wasn't planning

on telling my fiance, Harm, because I knew how upset he would be. I wasn't so

lucky though. Within the next few hours, my day went from bad to worse.
