"Give me another one," Ariel commanded as she slammed down the empty shot glass. So far, she's had 5, and had no intention of stopping. Granted, drinking like she was currently doing was not something she's normally do.
She had come into the tavern to pick up some wine for the castle. However, as she was waiting for the bartender to retrieve her request, a few burly men sitting at the bar had snickered that Ariel probably couldn't hold down a few drinks. She raised a brow at them and slid into a seat, asking the bartender for a few shots.
Now, the men were cheering as she downed another drink. The bartender, on the other hand, looked concerned as the princess had another 4 shots. When she clumsily slammed down the last one and slurred her request for another, the bartender knew he had to put an end to this. If the princess got drunk, Prince Eric might blame him.
He tried to say something to Ariel but was interrupted by the drunk redhead's attempt at singing. From what he could tell, it was the melody she had sung to His Highness that he had loved. But oh my was it awful.
The other bar-goers were laughing at the petite redhead, more and more people coming in to see their princess intoxicated. She was swirling around in the seat, exclaiming, "I'm a mermaid! I'm a meeeeeeeeeeermaid!" Her giggles even made the bartender smile, but he knew he had to put a stop to this.
"Your Highness," he started, "I think it's time for you to go back to the castle. Your husband-"
He was interrupted again by Ariel's singing, which sent an eruption of laughter throughout the tavern. Saying nothing, the bartender quickly but carefully grabbed Ariel's wrist and guided her to the door, despite her protest.
"I don't wanna gooooo," Ariel moaned. She felt so alive and free and happy inside. All she knew now was that someone was trying to take her away from all that. She started to cry as she stumbled out of the room, hearing nothing as the cool night air greeted her.
With a struggle, the bartender led Ariel back to the castle, all the while hoping that he would not be blamed for the princess' activities.
