hey everyone! this is the prologue of Travelling Across Time, the rewritten (and much better -sweatdrop-) verson of Through Space and Time!! i hope you like it!!

"…Rosette…"

Rosette shot up out of bed, instantly awakened by the soft whisper. "Who's there?" she asked, reaching for her gun, then blinked when she saw nothing. "What the…" she frowned.

"…Rosette…Christopher…"

Rosette stood up, looking around, but there was no one there. Her frown growing, she quickly got changed, pulled her pocket watch on over her head, and ran downstairs.

"Rosette Christopher…"

"…Chrono…"

In the Elder's workshop, a shadow shifted, two glowing points of crimson red being revealed. They narrowed, looking around.

"…Sinner…Chrono…"

"Who's there?" Chrono called, standing up. Seeing nothing, he frowned, then shrugged. Rosette's probably waiting in the dining hall by now, wondering where the heck I am, he thought, sweatdropping, and left the building.

"Sinner Chrono…Christopher…"

Rosette and Chrono had barely sat down to eat when Azmaria ran in. "Rosette! Chrono!" she called, looking worried.

"What's wrong?" Rosette asked, slurping her soup down.

"Sister Kate wants to see you," Azmaria said. "She looked kind of mad!"

Rosette muttered something incoherent under her breath, then stood up. "C'mon Chrono, let's go," she said resignedly. The two strode out of the dining hall, chatting animatedly.

Behind them, Azmaria sweatdropped. "She never changes, does she," she said to herself.

Not long after they left the dining hall, Rosette and Chrono were tearing through the streets as Rosette barely avoided the other cars. Chrono almost complained about the hairpin turns, but held it back when he thought of the consequences. Finally, the car came to a stop, landing on all four wheels again.

"Whew," Chrono sighed, staggering out. "At least she didn't crash it this time."

"What was that?" Rosette asked menacingly, glaring at the demon.

"N-nothing!" Chrono sweatdropped. "Anyways, let's go inside."

Rosette nodded, immediately becoming serious. "The sooner we start, the sooner we'll finish," she declared.

Bang! Click. Bang! Bang! Bang!

Rosette fired shot after shot at the demon, her clear eyes focused and determined. Finally, the demon fell to the floor, defeated, and vanished. "Jeez," she complained to Chrono. "Can't they just stay dead?!"

Chrono shrugged, his ruby eyes staring out from beneath purple hair. "Behind you!" he warned as another came up behind Rosette.

In one swift move, Rosette spun around and fired at the sneaky demon. Finally, the room was silent, void of any beings beside the two. "…Is that it?" Rosette asked hesitantly. When a quick sweep of the room proved that no more demons were there – well, besides Chrono – she cheered. "Finally!"

Chrono sweatdropped at her energy. "There weren't that many," he said.

"So?" Rosette pouted. "It seemed like forever!" With that declaration, she began to leave the room, already planning what she would do when she got back to the Order. She hadn't gone more than ten feet, however, when the pocket watch around her neck began to glow golden. "What the -"

"Rosette!" Chrono raced over to her. "What -"

The golden light expanded, encompassing them. Then, with a bright flash, it vanished, echoing off the walls of the now-empty room.

-swirly eyes- lots of quick little scenes...i tried to extend the original prologue, because it was REALLY short before (not even a hundred words, i think -sweatdrop-)

so...i've already rewritten chapters 1 and 2, but i want to get ahead a bit before i post them - to make sure this is how i want it, so i'm not re-rewritting it, like with Lost in Magic...

reviews appreciated, even if you flame me!!
