Summary: Ever since the beginning, Lucy has never felt at home. And she continues to feel so.

Nothing but a Nobody

Mommy said she loved you, and Daddy told her you were his princess – you were a child who took everything for granted and believed them. Their love was something which you never doubted.

You were happy – And then you grew up –

It was always the same. They were always the same – people. Lucy Weasley was always surrounded by people. She was never alone, yet every moment she felt lonely.

There was always a big gaping hole in Lucy's life, and it came to light when the safety of her home was no more an option. At first she thought it was only because everything was new to her. And that people needed time to adjust to their surroundings. After a while she began to realize that that wasn't the case at all – she was the reason why she was unhappy.

She fit in (absolutely no doubt in that) – yes, she fit in – to such an extent that she was as good as invisible.

It wasn't that Lucy was a loner, but she felt like one. Even when she was amongst a group, she constantly felt alone. She looked at her fellow classmates, all of them laughing and talking. The group of girls whom she sat with were so engrossed in their conversation that they seemed to have forgotten her. This had happened so many times that she had gotten used to it. But that didn't mean that she didn't feel awkward and hurt. Once or twice she had tried to involve herself in their conversations and they hadn't even heard her. She had kept quiet then, pretending that she wasn't embarrassed and hadn't spoken at all.

Staring at the parchment in her hands, Lucy sat on the couch under the pretence of doing something. Instead, her thoughts were else where . . .

Why is it so hard to find someone – anyone? Lucy wondered for the gazillion time. She didn't want to be popular. She didn't want to be noticed by every single person. She didn't want to be envied. She didn't – she just wanted to find a friend. Just one person!

But she was never lucky enough – luck never favoured her in relationships. She was destined to be alone, have no one in her life, never learn what it was to have real friends. If that was how life was going to treat her, she was going to accept it.

She was nothing.

Just a nobody.

And suddenly, it didn't matter anymore – she was too used to it.

AN: Not one of my best works, I had this written down quite a while ago, anyway – thought it's time to post.
