"How do you feel about pets?" Laura asked her girlfriend one day.
"They shouldn't be around me," Carmilla answered without looking up from her book.
"Then why do I have cat fur on my pillow?" Laura asked annoyed that she just cleaned it a few days ago.
"I don't know, is this your way of telling me you got a cat?" Carmilla said smirking.
"No, I'm asking you where you're hiding one," Laura said looking around their room for possible places that could be hiding a cat.
"Cupcake, I think you're paranoid because I'm not hiding one," Carmilla said and letting out a light laugh seeing her girlfriend searching.
"Fine, but I still believe you're hiding one," Laura said sitting on her bed.
"Maybe I'm planning something special for your birthday," Carmilla laughed at the excited look on Laura's face, "or you're just paranoid." Laura huffed and went to take a shower.
-A Few Days Later-
"You know how supernatural beings shape shift?" Carmilla nodded, "Well I think you're the cat," Laura had been observing Carmilla lately and finding her behavior cat-like.
Carmilla let out a laugh, "It took you that long?"
"Shut up, why didn't you tell me?" Laura was hurt that Carmilla didn't tell her.
"I'm sorry, I just didn't and you never asked me," she moved to sit next to Laura.
"You can make it up to me by showing me," Laura really wanted to see her girlfriend in her cat form.
"Only because I love you," she moved away slightly before disappearing into black smoke. A black cat walked out of the smoke and jumped into Laura's lap.
"You're so cute," Laura scratched the top of Carmilla's head. Carmilla started purring and Laura felt claws starting to dig into her leg, "Carm, if that's something you're going to do, I think you need to be declawed," Carmilla tensed up as Laura laughed lightly.
Carmilla changed back in a puff of black smoke, "Laura, I swear if you're not kidding-" Laura kissed her before she could go on.
"I'm not going to do that to you, I love you. Now go back to your cat form," Laura said happily.
"Now you just love me for my cat form," Carmilla said.
"You know I'm joking," Laura kissed her again.
"I love you," Carmilla said before disappearing into the black smoke again.
"I love you too, Carm," Laura said as she started petting Carmilla.
