It'll Never Be Over

Dedicated to CeffylGwyn, 'cause I know how much she loves Archie! Sorry for deleting Song of Vengeance, but I felt the plot wasn't really working out that well. Hopefully this makes up for it !

The minute I see him, my blood freezes in my veins. Time seems to slow down until it grinds to a halt, and the noises around me fade.

When we transferred to Captain Pellew's command, I was so sure it was over. The beatings, the taunting, the nightmares...My fits stopped, and I didn't feel afraid anymore. Luck actually seemed to have turned my way, for once.

But as I see Horatio helping Jack into the boat, albeit slowly, the fear I thought I had escaped comes back with terrifying force. I manage to keep it back, though, all the time Simpson explains to Captain Pellew and the other officers about Captain Keane's death and our plans to attack the French.

It's when Jack offers to go along with us on the attack, when he ambushes me in my cabin, that I realise the one thing I have been trying to escape:

It'll never be over.

Not until one of us is dead.

Okay, pretty dark, I know, but my fingers were itching to write something and this was one of the first things that came to mind.

I promise that the next thing I try to write here will be a multi-chapter fic! Till then, adieu and Godspeed!
