Pain
Lucifer was playing tricks with him again.
He was surrounded by so many figures of his older brother, some would laugh, some would yell and some tried to convince him they were the real one.
Sam knew only one way to stop it – his unhealed scar.
As the blood was oozing, out of all the Deans around him, only one would get up with horror in his eyes to help him.
As he was being cradled and soothed by his real big brother, he smiled.
No, Sam Winchester wasn't afraid of pain.
Pain was a friend. It kept him sane.
