Sarah Pov
Oh isn't he beautiful said max's mom
Oh yes he is honey said aunt sunny Sarah look he has a mark on his hand do you think it could be the mark?
Oh no it can't be the mark because he isn't even strong he is sickly looking but cute as the same time and it's said that whoever has the mark he will be the most handsome child ever seen
But we still have to tell saran it's the law

Do you really want to be whipped that badly for breaking the law remember what happened to the Sanderson's when they didn't tell lord saran about the mark on little Matt's hand the nearly got lashed to death we have to tell him
Fine but on one condition we wait at least a week before we tell him.
One week later
As I sat on the porch holding little max I knew my sister held to her word of waiting one week before contacting lord saran because one week to the day I felt him coming it's like an ominous presence that you feel is coming to kill you and more than likely if he found out I had withheld that I had actually had max seven days earlier I would surely be lashed to death with a whip that had a glass barb on the end that way the first crack of the whip would send glass shards all through my back. As lord saran approached the ominous feeling got ten times worse but I sucked it up and said
Lord saran so nice of you to come I expect that you have come to see the mark on my son's hand
Actually miss Sarah I came for two things one to check the mark and the second to bring you in for a lashing for breaking the law the law is if a baby has a strange mark on his hand you contact me the day you delivered him not a week later so you and your son please come to my carriage I will take you to the city so those brutes of guards don't have to come out here
Just then he caught sight of the mark and examined it more closely and realized it is the mark
Miss Sarah there is a change in plans your son will be coming with me and you are going to be put to death on the spot
What but why
Well because this is the child of prophecy and don't want you to try any foolish attempts at taking him back so I will just kill you now
As he finished the sentence he pulled out his sword and rammed It through her gut and said
Max by the blood of your mothers dying body I now name you link Sarah at least you get some comfort by knowing that your son will be the person to bring about a new age
There was a gurgling of blood that sounded a lot like a curse then her eyes lost focus and she was gone.
Aunt sonny's Pov
As i watched through the window waiting for saran to leave when he finally did I ran to my sister and said
Oh I am so sorry Sarah I didn't mean for this to happen I just wanted to get it over with I was a fool to agree to wait a week but I always had a soft spot for you and the baby looked like it could use some weight so I waited and looked what happened I should of sent for lord saran right away well at least you will have a proper burial and I will make sure that if max ever knocks at my door that I will tell him all about his mother how beautiful she was and how smart she was and don't you worry I will never forget now take your final rest your spirit must let go of this body
On the day of the funeral we had a pyre to burn her and let the wind spread her ashes.
