Soo...I decided to write a little something. I haven't written something in a while so it's probably not even that great. But hey. enjoy.
Disclaimer: Naruto doesn't belong to me, if it did, no one would read it.
Lead Me Home
At the end of the war, he searches desperately for just the slightest glimpse of bright, pink hair. But, when he finally found the one whom it belonged to, his cerulean, blue eyes only widen in incomparable grief and shock. Sakura, his dearest best friend, is lying alarmingly still in the heaps and masses of broken rock and ground. She lays there, apple green eyes wincing with unbearable pain and determination, just to hang onto to whatever few minutes that she has remaining before her heart comes to a complete stop.
"Sakura…!" Naruto whimpers, kneeling next to the girl, no, young woman, his beautiful blue eyes brimming with unshed tears. His hands grasp at hers, holding them between his in a fruitless attempt to warm them up. Both her eyes are open now, staring at his face so intensely so that she can memorize everything just one last time.
The Haruno's hands are steadily becoming colder and colder, the numbness slowly climbing up her limbs causes her to shake violently, but at the sight of one of her boy's tears, her body spasms with an onslaught of uncontrollable sobs. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry…" is all she can repeat over and over again, in a futile attempt at how selfish she has been towards her blonde ray of sunshine, the one that would promise her the world if only she had asked.
The boy lets out a wail that breaks her heart, and Sakura squeezes his fingers with whatever strength she has left. "It's going to be alright! I'll get Shizune, so just wait for me!" the Kyuubi container sobs, his tears cascading over his tan and whiskered cheeks. At the sight of her weakly shaking head, his cries increase, his body shaking in uncontained grief. She smiles a weak smile for him, and he notices, through blurry, blurry eyes that the light hasn't left them, just yet.
"I'm not going to make it back, not this time." Green eyes are all-knowing and shedding tears, her breath is coming in shallow pants, from both the sobs and that she's losing the ability to breathe. "Just..just tell everyone I love them, especially Mom and Dad, do it for me, alright?" Those near-endless emerald green eyes are so widely hopeful, that he suddenly loses the ability to tell her that they had both died as well.
He's nodding furiously, his tears splaying onto her face and she smiles sadly. "Don't go…" he whimpers quietly, his hands clutching hers tighten, but she can't feel it anymore. Pink hair moves from side to side subtly, the earth-breaking woman is too weak to move anymore.
"I…I have to. Nothing's going to work, not this time round," her lips move, hesitantly at first before it's just spilling out with her cries. She's scared; of the numb that's slowly taking over, of the icy cold that follows closely behind it. Desperately still, she attempts to smile, just for her best friend's sake. Just to pretend to be brave one last time before she can't do it anymore. Then, her eyes soften, and she opens her selfish, selfish mouth and makes her last request. "H-hey…remember when-"she's cut off by a choking cough that has her spraying speckles of blood onto her best friend's face and the kunoichi is suddenly so ashamed of herself. "When you s-said that if I ever get l-lost, you'll bring me home?" her voice is shaking from her sobs and her shivering.
He nods desperately.
"….Just…bring me home again." And then he's screaming in agonizing grief, telling her to not to go, but he doesn't notice how she's oddly still and nonresponsive. Through her dimming sight, her green eyes only see how ironic it is that even though it was cloudy and downcast, Naruto Uzumaki's eyes were her clear, blue sky.
So...how was it? Criticism is accepted. A little follow up maybe? Idk.
