North, south, east, west

Faith is put to the test.

Western woods in straits so dire,

Burning north, a golden fire.

Southern sun doesn't glow,

Eastern seas freeze with snow.

Winter ice is in the air,

In between two hills her lair.

Winter strong, winter cold

Comes to face north fire gold.

Fire placed up north so high,

Winter comes, but quickly dies.

In western wastes winter arrives.

Nothing shall be left alive!

Western waters, warm and clear,

Winter snows, they run in fear.

Southern sun, no light she gives.

Winter's presence in her lives.

Beauty pride, for no help calls.

Into winter south sun falls.

Eastern sea, frigid froze,

Winter like an icy rose.

A brilliant light, from east it comes.

Winter sees; she turns and runs.

Joyful spring, dance and sing!

Winter now, no cold she brings.

Southern sun is restored.

Peace reigns forevermore.

North, south, east, west,

Each has passed the compass test.
