"Got to tell them... But how? What if they get mad? Or worse, what if the girls burst out into tears? Are the going to break up the band because of me?"
"That's all guys! Practice's done for the day," Dewey said breaking Freddy out of his reverie. The band began to break out into chatter as they began to tune their instruments or waited for one another.
"Now or never."
"I...have an announcement," Freddy stated as the band prepared to leave. Practice had finally finished and Freddy could not think of a better time than now to tell them the news.
As everyone curiously looked at him, he drew in a big breath.
"I'm leaving."
And much to his surprise, and disappointment, there were no gasps or cries.
"Oh? When are you leaving?" Summer asked, phone in one hand.
"Ne-Next month," Freddy stuttered.
"Why are you leaving?" Katie asked.
"Dad's got a promotion, but it's at the main firm."
"Oh, then it's not so bad, it's only a few hours' journey away." Zack responded.
"Anybody want to grab a bite to eat with me now?" Dewey asked, getting a reply that they were all coming.
"But—But..." Freddy was left gaping at his band members as they left the room.
"Come on Freddy, let's go. We'll hold a party for you before you leave!" Marta said, tugging at his arm.
"That went...well..." Freddy thought as he left the room after the rest.
