This fic takes place a few years after the series. The ages are different too: Jonny & Jessie (17) Hadji (18) Benton (late 40's) Race (mid 40's). That's about it.
I don't own any of the actual JQ: TRA characters from the show.
Summary: Jonny, Jessie, and Hadji are sent to a supposively abandon castle to stop a band of thieves from stealing hidden and powerful artifacts. They most also prevent the release of an untamed power...
Beyond Resistance
Jonny Quest was positioned on one side of the room, his companions Jessie and Hadji by his side. Opposing him in the argument was his father Benton and his mentor Race. It was all over a mission that Jonny did not want to give up on.
"Why can't the three of us handle it, dad?! We're old enough, we're trained enough, and this is important!" Jonny argued.
"But the mission might be too dangerous!" His father echoed in tone.
"Like we haven't faced danger before?" Jonny ventured quickly.
"I just don't know if your up to it. It would be better if Race and I went with you."
"Dad, just give us the information and instructions and we can handle it. You and race have a meeting with the senator. You can't accompany us on the mission."
Benton Quest sighed, and reluctantly nodded his head.
"I think I'm becoming easier to overrule. Fine, the three of you can go, but we are making suitale preparations, and going over the whole situation. You can fly over their tomorrow." He answered in a defeated tone. Jonny nodded, accepting the responsibility. Jessie and Hadji, who had been quite through most of the discussion, nodded in agreement. Behind Benton, Race chuckled.
"I think you are becoming soft, Benton. But I also think these kids can handle themselves better than we can handle them."
"Dad, we're not kids! We're adults!" His daughter Jessie objected.
"I think we should check the files now, for an overview." Hadji suddenly suggested. Jonny and Jessie both nodded to him.
Jessie moved to a her laptop on a nearby table, flipping it open and started it up. The two guys waited patiently behind her, as she started to load up information files on their mission. Benton muttered something about coffee before leaving the room. Race chuckled and followed him out the door.
After a minute, the mission files popped up on the screen. Jessie read aloud some of the statistics.
"Let's se here. The castle is located in the Bermuda Triangle, and is quite large. The important artifacts we need are somewhere inside. I think there are three of them. But sources have it that there's a thief's guild that has their eyes on this castle for sometime. And there is also supposed to be some untaimed power or something. Pretty vague, but nonetheless intriquing." Jessie finished and turned to look at the others. "So I guess we'll just head out tomorrow." Jonny and Hadji agreed with her. She closed the laptop and stood up. "I'm going to go pack." Jessie stated, and then left. Jonny smiled at Hadji.
"This is shaping up to be quite an adventure."

Dr. Benton Quest finished off his cup of coffee quickly. His mind was concentrating on the mission the teens were about to take on. He worried about what they would encounter. Benton expected they could fight the thieves and search the castle, but it was what he didn't know about the castle was what worried them. He it was huge, but he knew nothing of the structure inside. And the more he thought about it, the more it troubled him. There was quite a lot in store for the teens on the mission. Benton just hoped it wouldn't be too much to handle.
