[ -is back again- The bad guys take centre stage in this story:D Anyway, ONWARD!

TRUST

The only sound that could be heard echoing down the vast hallway of the fortress was the heavy thudding of boots.

As Lloyd sped down the hallways, the only thought running in his head was: Got to tell Father. Got to get out of here.

Rather wildly, Lloyd cut down any morph in his path, ignoring the silvery morph goo/blood his sword and trench coat was coated in.

Upon reaching a massive door with intricate carvings of dragons etched in the teak wood, he took a deep breath and rammed his shoulder against the door at a futile attempt at opening it.

"Open, goddammit!" he cursed after several minutes of very painful crashing, in which he was very sure he dislocated every bone in his arm. A long shadow cast over the fuming swordmaster. "Linus! Didn't I tell you to flee?!" Lloyd spun to face his brother, exasperated. The bulky hero merely gave an indifferent shrug. "I couldn't just leave you to face them, could I?"

"Linus, you don't know what these… things are capable of!" Lloyd flailed his arms wildly, at the brink of insanity, to emphasize the velocity of the morphs strengths. His brother smiled wryly. "Brothers for life!"

"I forgot how stubborn Linus can be…" Lloyd bitterly massaged his temples in annoyance. "Fine.." he gave a defeated sigh. "Help me open the door."

Without hesitation, Linus charged full force at the door.

When the dust had finally settled, Lloyd had a sickening feeling in the pit of his stomach as he waved away the dust. How did his brother break a thousand year old door? How did he acquire such strength? Lloyd's suspicions were dismissed; the cause being that he had slackened in his training as of late.

"Lloyd! Linus! What is the meaning of this?!"

The aforementioned swordmaster flinched at his father's mighty bellow.

"Like you'd care. All you care about now is Sonia! You're too blind to know what she's doing to the Fang! SHE'S FUCKING CORRUPTING IT!" Lloyd burst out bitterly.

The large warrior shook his head, as if that motion alone would dispel the truth. "Are you sure you don't need Ursula to heal you or something…?"

Lloyd couldn't believe it. His father, his own father, the only person other than Linus whom he fully trusted, was doubting him at such a crucial moment?

"I'll do this myself," Lloyd stormed past the ghost of the man he once knew, when he heard his brother call out to him.

He turned; only to find his frantic brother in Sonia's grasp, her tome held like a brick over Linus' skull. It was then Lloyd noticed how awfully thick and heavy the tome looked.

A handaxe whooshed past him, knocking Lloyd and his low swordmaster constitution down ( joke from Meelu the Bold. :D).

He staggered to his feet after finding no visible injuries, heaving the handaxe up. "Not one step, boy, or your brother's brains are going to get frozen!"

Sonia obviously didn't know the basic principles of the handaxe, even after seeing it in action. Tightening his grip on the axe, Lloyd aimed and flung it with all his might.

"SKRLTCH!" The sickening sound of axe meeting flesh made Lloyd wince as Linus fell to the ground, covered in silver ooze.

The hero wiped the substance off the amazing axe. "You learn fast, brother…" he smiled, speaking softly. "Too bad you don't learn fast enough."

Lloyd barely saw it coming, and as the flying axe made contact with his skull, he saw Linus tower over him, wiping silver blood the trickled from his wounds, and he whispered, in a voice Lloyd did not recognize, "Goodnight, brother."

[SHOCK! LINUS IS A MORPH! Poor Lloyd and his low sowrdmaster constitution. Well, I'll be back with some LeagultHeath sap soon enough!
