Lab Rat
Prologue
"Ms. Bennet, I wanted to speak with you about something very..very important." Looking up from her paper work the scientist nodded to her boss. Everyone else from the meeting left the room as expected and left them alone. "You know the most about the progress with the Nemesis project, and you also know that we are shipping the project to America, to Raccoon city."
"Yes sir, I know of the mission he'll be sent on." She stood from her swivel chair and places her papers back into the file on the table in front of her, picking it up she held the data against her chest. "What does that have to do with me? After he leaves its out of my jurisdiction."
"Actually, I would like you to go with the Nemesis project to Raccoon city and monitor its actions and repair any damage it may be inflicted with while there. We have spent a lot of money trying to perfect this and I don't want it going to waist."
"You want me to go with him?" Bri shifted uncomfortably before her boss. She knew what was going on in Raccoon city, and she knew how unsafe it was. She had no military training.
"Being near the Nemesis project will be the safest place for you while there. I promise nothing will happen to you while there and we are willing to give you some...security that you should be fine while there. The monster seems to respond to you the best anyways, so it would be best if you were to go with it." He motioned for her to leave the room, walking down the hallway with her towards the labs. Bri followed him, silent the entire way to the labs and to where Nemesis was kept. The room was large enough for a normal man, but he wasn't anything normal. She always frowned when she saw him cramped inside such a small room. It was just the size of a standard jail cell.
"I would be guaranteed my safety around him..?"
"You practically raised it doctor, do you trust it?" She looked away from her boss and back into the small one way mirrored room, watching the creature stand and look back at her despite it not being able to see her through the wall. Nodding silently, Bri agreed to follow the project to America.
