(Diaz household, living room)

Marco came out of the kitchen with a plate filled with nachos and spotted Star sitting on the couch and "watching" the TV. Seeing that, he went to the princess, put the plate of nachos on the desk and said, "Hi Star, I noticed you're watching the TV...which isn't even turned on."

"I don't know how to turn it on." Star replied without taking her eyes off the TV.

"You need to use the control remote."

Hearing that, Star blinked twice and turned to Marco before asking, "The central ramot?"

"No, control remote."

"Cantroll Ramon?"

"Control remote."

"Cun Stroll Remembersense?"

"That doesn't even-" Marco sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose before sitting next to the princess and saying, "Okay Star, hear and repeat what I say: Con."

"Con."

"Trol."

"Trol."

"Re."

"Re."

"Mote."

"Mote."

"Control remote."

"Cowball Riboat."

"Ugh, forget it!" Marco grabbed the control remote and showed it to Star, "Just use this black rectangle device to turn on the TV!"

With that said, Marco dropped the control remote next to Star, grabbed the plate of nachos and went upstairs in frustration. Star, meanwhile, eyed the control remote and gave it a reassuring look as she put her hands on her hips and said, "Okay, cowbell seagull, turn on the TV!"

The control remote did nothing. "Come on, don't be shy."

Same result. "I'll be your best friend if you do it!"

The same thing happened, but this time Star crossed her legs and changed her tone to a more serious one. "Alright, I didn't want to abuse my authority on anybody in this dimension, but I'll let you know I'm the princess of Mewni and have a good deal of political power, whatever that is, and I will use it on you if you don't turn on the TV."

The control continued to remain immobile, which started to get on Star's nerves.

"I'm being serious, Lowschool Ricebot, the army or Mewni is one of the most powerful in the whole multiverse! After we use our magic to power it up of course, it's actually pretty puny without it," realizing what she said, Star stopped talking and covered her mouth, "I wasn't supposed to say that!"

Star glanced at the control remote and tackled it, forcing it to the ground and aiming her wand at it as she started to cry.

"I'm sorry, baseball halmot, but nobody other than the people I'll invite to mewnipendence day must learn about the secret to Mewni's absolute power. I didn't want it to be this way, I really didn't, but there's no other choice...forgive me, control remote!"

She waved her wand and shouted "Memory Erasing Mind Petal!", creating a white petal that slowly fell on the control remote, flashing an intense white light as Star looked away. Surprisingly enough, once the light dispersed, the control remote didn't change at all, which made the princess freak out.

"Oh no, it's immune to magic! What should I do?! What can I do?!"

(Some minutes later)

Marco went downstairs with his plate now empty and saw a neurotic and terrfied Star on the floor, who went to him and pleaded, "Marco, that thing's a monster! It not only refuses to turn on the TV, but it made me blurt out a horrible secret that nobody must know just yet!"

Star glanced at the control remote and pulled Marco closer to her. "You got to help me deal with it!"

"Well, this is what I get for not teaching you how to use it in the first place," Marco uttered with a shrug.

Marco went to the control remote as a worried Star followed him. He turned it to the TV, pressed a button and threw it to the couch as the TV turned on, much to Star's shock.

"THAT'S ALL I HAD TO DO?!"

"Pretty much."

Once Star processed all that, she fainted on the ground, making Marco shake his head with an amused smile. "You got a lot to learn, Star."
