"My red hair has nothing to do with my physiological problems," Cat yelled
"You are so rude," Robbie's grandmother said
"WHAT'S THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN," Cat yelled at the top of her lungs.
Robbie's grandmother had enough. She kicked Cat so that Cat had to hold onto a chair in order to stay up and not hit the floor then she whacked her several times. Robbie heard the noise and came out of the bathroom.
"WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING," he yelled at his grandmother.
"That girl yelled at me," Robbie's nana defended
"That's no excuse," Robbie said pushing his nana off of Cat who was bawling, "You know what. I've had enough of you. You're rude. You're bossy and you are calling me every two minutes for computer problems. THAT I can accept. What I cannot and will never accept is the way you treat Cat. I'm done with you. Don't call me. I won't pick up. I'm blocking you from my Internet. You will NEVER see me again. I love you but Cat is more important to me then you are and when you hurt Cat that's the line you're not allowed to cross."
"That's how I used to deal with your father when he would yell at me," Robbie's grandmother said
"Read my lips. I Don't Care! I'm not going to have anything to do with you anymore. You and I are finished. We're done. You're nothing to me and for the record 1) Cat is not your child and 2) no wonder my dad was so screwed up.
He put an arm around Cat and left the house. Using his thumb he dried her eyes.
"Cat," he said softly, "My grandmother is insane. She doesn't know what she's doing. She didn't mean anything by it"
Cat sniffled.
"KK," she said.
She knew that she had friends who loved her and as long as she had that she was safe.
"You know what," Robbie said, "I think I promised to take you baby golfing"
"Yeah," Cat said cheerfully. She was starting to feel better. He hugged her and stroked her hair. All of a sudden their lips met in a kiss.
"Oh wow," Cat said
"Are we... are we a thing," Robbie asked
"Darlin' we're everything," Cat said quoting Angel from the show Rent.
...
Robbie's phone rang. It was his grandmother.
"Aren't you going to get your phone," Jade asked.
"No," Robbie growled, "I HATE the person calling"
"Who's calling," Beck asked.
"My grandmother," Robbie said
"You hate your grandmother," Jade asked
"Yes I do," Robbie said
Jade grinned
"Cool," she said
Beck looked at her.
"Jade," he exclaimed, "That's not a good thing"
"Actually," Robbie said, "It is in this case. My grandmother hit Cat"
There was fire in Jade's eyes that Beck hadn't seen in a long time.
"DUDE," Jade yelled, "I am so gonna kick her ass!"
"Jade," Beck said, "Calm down"
"I am not going to calm down," Jade roared, "NOBODY has the right to hurt my friends. I am so going to kill her"
"What you need to do is breathe," Beck said, "I know you're angry but you need to take some time to calm down. Robbie handled it."
Robbie checked his voicemail
"ROBBIE," his nana said on the voicemail, "I'M HAVING TROUBLE WITH MY COMPUTER! I NEED YOU TO COME OVER AND HELP ME FIX IT"
Robbie erased that message.
"So Cat," Robbie said, "Wanna go see a movie today"
"KK," Cat said cheerfully.
Beck smiled at the couple.
"How about we see a movie too," he suggested to Jade
"Nah," Jade said, "I'd rather go to La Shay's"
"Okay," Beck said smiling
"Really," Jade exclaimed
"Yes," Beck said, "It's been awhile anyway"
"Cool," Jade said smiling.
...
"ROBBIE," his grandmother called out in the movie theater.
He ignored her. She followed him.
"Do I know you," Robbie said.
His grandmother started crying. He didn't care. Cat and Robbie went into the movie and enjoyed it.
