Superman: The League

Chapter 1: Origin

Clark watched the facility from afar. The office building and hangars were dwarfed by the labyrinth that laid beneath the surface. Clark watched as what could possibly be the sole cache of Kryptonian technology on Earth was researched and picked apart by scientists and used to make military hardware; weapons, tanks, fighter jets, and even advanced battle suits unlike anything the world has seen. Clark looked at the name of the building on the surface.

"SpaceLex"

One of the many companies owned by billionaire Lex Luthor; the second richest man on Earth after the mysterious Bruce Wayne. What separated the two men was simple; Lex was a show-boater. He would rub his wealth in the faces of others and demand worship. He claimed to be a genius but as Clark saw his empire was built on the back of others. Not just Kryptonians but scientists that worked day in and day out to discover what secrets the Kryptonians still kept that they could use to make the world a better place, only for it to be turned to into weapons.

Clark looked at the crystal in his hand. This seemed to be the only Kryptonian technology it could detect on Earth. The thought that maybe he could have stopped this if he started to look sooner crept into his head, but he shook it out. He couldn't have; he always knew he was different, as he grew older and older his powers started to emerge as a reaction to outside stimuli.

He remembered the day that his parents told him the truth. That he came from the stars, that he was an alien. His parents showed him the ship that they found him in and gave him a crystal that they found with him. The crystal immediately activated when it touched Clark's hand. It was some type of computer that showed him images of his home planet and told him it's name, Krypton.

It also told him the story of his parents. His mother; Lara Lor-von was a historian and studied Krypton's past. His father; Jor-El was a scientist, the leading astrophysicist of the planet and a member of Krypton's ruling body; the Science Council. Krypton had fallen into a state of Civil War between the Science Council and a military dictator by the name of General Zod. In the end the war led to the destruction of Kyrpton, but not before Jor-El sent Clark to Earth to be saved from it's destruction.

The Crystal told Clark his Kryptonian name; Kal-El, and asked him to find Kryptonian technology which could be found on Earth. Clark chose to put off finding the technology till he turned 18. Not long before his 18th birthday Clark's father; Johnathan Kent, passed away. Clark decided to stay with his mother; Martha Kent, and make sure to get everything settled before he started his journey. Clark was now 25 and a day into his journey he hit a roadblock. Despite his immense powers not even Clark could get the Kryptonian technology from SpaceLex, at least not with out hurting somebody possibly even killing them.

Clark thought about what to do when he heard a voice.

"Kryptonian," the voice said "my name is Abin-Sur and I failed to serve Krypton, but I need your help to save Earth."
