What Lies Ahead
Chapter 1 Reflecting Home
Yuki's POV
After leaving Cross Academy, I was speechless from what has been happening. Why does it happen so fast? At least I'm with onii-sama. Right now, we are walking through a cave which could be a secret passage for us. He was holding my hand and it felt warm and soft. Onii-sama suddenly stopped. I looked up and saw him giving me a worried stare.
"What's wrong, Yuki?" Kaname asked. "Are you already tired?" I feel this has been a long walk.
"No, I'm not, but many thoughts have been filling my mind ever since we left," I told him.
"Don't worry," Kaname said calmly, "Once we make it there, you can rest." Make it where? Where are we going onii-sama? "I hope you still remember this place." I looked up at that building and all those memories came back to me. Mixed emotions started filling up my eyes with tears. "Welcome Home, Yuki." Home. My home with otou-sama and okaa-sama. I turned to onii-sama and hugged him as tears flowed down my cheeks. "It's alright, Yuki. I'm here." He wrapped his arms around me.
I wiped the tears away and went inside with onii-sama. The room was silent and dark until he turned on the light. It's good that it was dim. Kaname said, "Please stay inside this house. There is a meeting I need to attend to."
I grabbed his sleeve and responded, "Please don't go, onii-sama. We just got home."
He said, "Don't worry. It won't be too long. However, I do need something from you." Onii-sama suddenly pinned me to the wall and moved my hair to see the left side of my neck. His eyes turned to a bloodlust color as I see his fangs. He moved closer to my neck. I could feel his breath as he licked. Then… a piercing sting was felt. I can hear onii-sama taking it in.
I said calmly, "Take as much as you need." I heard him stop drinking and gave me a worried look as his eyes turned back to its normal color.
Kaname said, "I don't want to hurt you. I'm sorry if I did."
"It's okay. I'm just exhausted. It's nothing to worry about," I said.
He replied, "But you are what I'm worrying about now." Onii-sama's face was coming closer to mine. I closed my eyes and the next thing I felt was his face against mine and our lips connected. Onii-sama's face moved away from mine and I opened my eyes, yet I wasn't really surprised. All of a sudden, I just started falling forward until Onii-sama caught me.
Kaname asked, "Are you feeling okay, Yuki?" He gave me a worried look, but I smiled a little. I felt Onii-sama starting to carry me bridal style and started walking. My head was resting against his chest. I love the sound of his heartbeat; it made me sleepy. I closed my tired eyes and heard Kaname say, "Have a sweet dream, Yuki"
