A/N Well, everyone, here we are. This, ladies and gentlemen, is the sequel to my Naruto fanfiction Red Dawn Rising. This, of course, will focus on the next generation of ninja being born after Indra Otsutsuki was defeated by the new Sage of Six Paths, Menma Uzumaki, along with the rebuilding and repopulating of Uzushiogakure. Everything's all good, right? There's a quote that can be said here to describe this predicament...what was it? oh yes.

"In order for the light to shine so brightly, the darkness must be present."

Let us begin?

Prologue

In the years before time, when mankind waged war on one another with medieval weapons of all proportions, there was no peace. Blood soaked the earth on all four corners, staining the grass and earth red. From the blood that poured so profusely from the deceased, a tree grew, mighty and strong. This tree was known as the Shinju, the God Tree. It was revered as a deity, for once every millenium, the tree would bore a fruit of great power, one that was taboo if it was eaten by anyone or anything. It was forbidden.

However, a tree of such power did not go unnoticed. Over a thousand years ago, a clan of men and women arrived on earth from another world. They were known as the Otsutsuki clan. Their leader, a woman by the name of Kaguya Otsutsuki, witnessed the utter brutality of the wars mankind waged on one another, and wishing to bring an end to them all ate the forbidden fruit of the Shinju.

She transcended and developed an extraordinary power that placed her over all others and turned her into a goddess. This great power is known as chakra. Using her now unrivaled power, she finally brought an end to mankind's relentless wars and brought peace to the world. Seen as a deity and called the Rabbit Goddess by all, Kaguya settled down and lived among the people with her clan, eventually getting pregnant and bearing twin sons, whom she named Hagoromo and Hamura. As time went on though, she grew despotic due to the power clouding her judgement, and she desired to control mankind by force. Her public image because of this quickly degraded from that of a benevolent goddess to that of a terrifying demon. In a fit of jealousy, after finding out her twin sons had inherited her chakra, she merged with the Shinju to become a monstrous being known as Juubi, the Ten-Tails.

After a fierce battle, resulting in the sacrifice and death of Hamura Otsutsuki, Hagoromo managed to seal the Juubi within himself and become the first Jinchuuriki. Throughout his entire life, he shared his chakra with the world and taught the people the concept of Ninshū, eventually he himself having two sons of his own, Indra and Asura. While the remainder of his clan left to guard the empty husk of the Juubi, their late princess in reality, in the celestial body Hagoromo had created to house it, the Moon, he divided the chakra of the Juubi into nine separate parts and created the Nine Bijuu, the Ichibi, the Nibi, the Sanbi, the Yonbi, the Gobi, the Rokubi, the Nanabi the Hachibi, and the Kyuubi.

Asura and Indra, however, became divided when Hagoromo chose Asura to continue to teach humanity the concept of Ninshū, and Indra slowly became angry and jealous of his younger brother, and after being tempted by a being known as Black Zetsu, who had been created from the will of Kaguya to do anything in its power to revive her, he fought against his own brother in an attempt to claim what he thought was his birthright.

Their feud dribbled down into their ancestors, the Uchiha and Senju, and down into their most recent incarnations, Sasuke Uchiha and Naruto Uzumaki. Indra had formulated a plan before his passing and remained alive throughout the centuries as a shroud of chakra that had waited for the right moment to strike and fulfil the plan his previous incarnation, Madara Uchiha, had attempted to enact...he Eye of the Moon Plan. He, however, failed when Naruto, after having beaten Sasuke and ending the feud forcefully through the elimination of the Uchiha Clan's sole survivor, defeated Indra and Kurama, the former Kyuubi, gave his life so his body could be used as a vessel for Indra to be sealed into for twenty years.

He returned once more by accident when Menma Uzumaki, Naruto's son, released him from his prison. Intent of fulfilling his plan, he used Menma as his pawn to capture the Bijuu and eventually cast the Infinite Tsukuyomi over the world. Menma, however, was met by Hagoromo and Hamura themselves, along with everyone and anyone who had at one point embraced the Sage's ideals and through the transferal of one's chakra to another, Menma gained the highly revered Rinnegan and became the new Sage of Six Paths, defeating Indra once and for all and returning peace to the world through the spreading of his chakra to everyone around the globe, sharing their experiences and allowing people to finally understand one another.

Peace had returned to the earth as a new age of hope, love and light became a reality, with the villages now allies with one another and each village's shinobi working hand in hand to handle any affair together. The Akatsuki, led by Menma, became the guardians of peace and prosperity and helped the world flourish.

It had seemed as if darkness itself had been expunged from the earth and there was no chance of the vile thing to ever return.

This is false.

In a world of light, there must always be darkness. One cannot exist without the other.
