Kageyama pushed the big oak doors open, not bothering to knock. If he was top commander, he didn't have to succumb to regular formalities. Especially since he had a particularly… special… place in the king's heart.

Well, if he did succumb to regular formalities, he wouldn't be daring to approach the throne room in the first place, but since he was "The Great Kageyama Tobio", they made a few exceptions for him.

All eyes were on him as he walked in. It seemed that there was a heated discussion going on before he entered, but apparently it was private enough to stop now that he had come in.

"Why are you here?" Kindaichi asked, getting straight to the point. He was the one guard who had a particular problem with Kageyama, and both of them hadn't forgiven each other for it. They probably never would, if they were being truthful about it. It didn't matter how many times Kageyama apologized for not treating him like the second-in-command should be treated, Kindaichi wasn't taking any more crap from him. He had a new commander now, and Kageyama wasn't worth the time.

"I want to speak to Oikawa-san." Kageyama replied, being equally as blunt. "Privately."

He turned around to look the king straight in the eye while saying that. Oikawa's eyes flashed, not understanding what Kageyama wanted to talk about, but what he wanted Oikawa to do.

"OK. Iwa-chan, Makki, Kunimi, and Kindaichi, you guys can leave. We'll continue this later." Oikawa looked around, issuing his order then climbing the stairs up to his throne.

Iwaizumi glanced at Kageyama, confused. "We can't let you do that."

Kageyama sighed. "And why is that, Iwaizumi-san?"

"Well, it's not like I have a grudge against you or anything, but usually guests don't talk to the king without at least 2 guards around him." Iwaizumi clarified.

"Plus, we don't know what weapons you have with you." Takahiro directly accused him.

"My weapons are in the pockets of my coat, you can check there. I left it at the front door." Kageyama frowned, pointing at his coat lying on the floor. Iwaizumi turned to Kunimi and Kindaichi and jerked his head in the direction of Kageyama's coat, signaling Go check it out. "As for the weapons on me…" Kageyama continued, like nothing had happened.

"Here's 2." He unbuttoned the top 2 buttons on his shirt and reached inside, pulling out 2 knives from his left side. "Here's another one…" He lifted his shirt and pulled out the small but sharp dagger from the waistband of his pants. "There's 1 in each of my sleeves…" Kageyama pulled out another 2 short stilettos from his sleeves, and then proceeded to reach into his boots for another one in each of his boots. As he gave them to Iwaizumi, Takahiro started counting them and shaking his head in disbelief. "You carry 7 knives on you? Dang. You're more hardcore than I thought."

Kageyama snapped his fingers. "Oh yeah, I knew I was forgetting something." He rolled up the right leg of his pants and revealed a small pocket on the inside, where there was yet another tiny blade.

"Here you go. I'm all clean." Kageyama stated, spreading his arms. "Now you have nothing to fear."

Iwaizumi just gaped at him, astonished by the number of weapons he had. "Right… OK. We'll leave you now."

Kunimi, Kindaichi, Iwaizumi, and Takahiro exited the room. Right before they left, Oikawa called out "Makki!"

"What?" Takahiro turned around, not looking the last bit excited for a new task that Oikawa might assign him.

"Just leave the knives in my room. I'll give them to Tobio-chan after we're done talking." Oikawa said, tilting his head at his friend. "You do know where my room is, right?"

Takahiro's face went blank. "It's OK, I'll tell you where it is." Iwaizumi muttered, pulling his friend away from the room. "Be finished fast." Iwaizumi yelled, closing the oak doors behind him.

"So…you wanted what?" Oikawa turned to look at Kageyama, challenging him with his eyes.

Kageyama walked up the stairs and stood in front of Oikawa. "Who said I wanted anything?" He teasingly swayed his hips and smirked a little when he saw the gleam in Oikawa's eyes.

"Why else would you be here?" Oikawa asked with a little difficulty, forcing himself to look up into Kageyama's eyes.

Kageyama plopped himself into Oikawa's lap and encircled his arms around his neck. Oikawa bit his bottom lip to keep from moaning as Kageyama's breath played hotly on his neck while his lover moved lightly and teasingly in his lap.

"I heard someone got jealous today." Kageyama whispered into Oikawa's ear, smiling amusedly when he saw Oikawa's hand clench from the corner of his eye.

"I did not get jealous, thank you very much." Oikawa said though clenched teeth.

"Really?" Kageyama pulled back, giving his boyfriend a surprised look. "Because that's not what I heard."

"Well, you heard wrong. And whoever told you that was wrong." Oikawa glared, giving Kageyama a don't-you-dare-continue look. Unfortunately, Kageyama loved taking up challenges that his king gave him.

"Yes well, unfortunately for you, I heard it from the person you were jealous of. And," Kageyama continued, lightly tracing over Oikawa's jaw, "I quite trust him."

Oikawa rolled his eyes. It wouldn't work. He wouldn't get jealous again just because his boyfriend said he trusted him. He would not.

"Why were you jealous?" Kageyama raised an eyebrow at Oikawa. "What did Hinata do in order for you to specifically go to him and threaten to take away his bicycle if he ever talked to me again?"

"Nothing." Oikawa's glare got deeper.

"Oh, so he did nothing and you still got mad at him?" Kageyama continued to push his lover's buttons.

"Why does he have your 9th knife?" Oikawa suddenly asked.

Kageyama narrowed his eyes. "Don't change the subject."

"It's your favorite dagger. Do you think I wouldn't have noticed if you didn't have it on you?"

"No, I gave him my second favorite dagger, I just switched the places."

"I would've have noticed, your favorite blade is the one that has the wooden hilt."

"Dumbass, I couldn't very well have given him the dagger you gave me! So I gave him the other one!"

Oikawa's eyes widened at that. Kageyama could be so cute and so caring in ways Oikawa never noticed. Before his boyfriend could pull away, Oikawa pulled Kageyama's face down to give him a quick kiss.

"Sorry. I guess…I got mad at him because I thought he was the reason you couldn't come to bed for the past few nights." Oikawa admitted sheepishly, turning his head to the side.

Kageyama sighed, resting his forehead in his palm. "Oikawa, the reason I haven't been able to–"

Oikawa held up a hand. "I know, you were discussing war plans, that's what Iwa-chan, Makki, Kindaichi, Kunimi, and I were talking about before you came in."

Kageyama nodded. "So… are we going to war?"

Oikawa shook his head. "I don't know yet. Nekoma hasn't declared war officially, but I'm pretty sure they have a secret weapon that they aren't telling us. They'd be strong allies, but I don't know…" Oikawa trailed off, a worried look in his eyes. He started idly drawing patterns on Kageyama's thigh, something that'd he'd so when he was often in deep thought.

"What secret weapon?" Kageyama's eyes flashed and he grabbed both of Oikawa's arms, trying to get his attention.

"I'm not sure." Oikawa shook his head. "Plus, even if I was, I'm not sharing it with anyone."

"Does Iwaizumi-san know?" Kageyama asked, incredulous. Oikawa and Iwaizumi were friends since practically birth, so not telling Iwaizumi would mean…would mean that Oikawa really unsure about this decision of his.

"No no, I told Iwa-chan. He's actually the one who made me come up with the idea…" Oikawa shook his head, clearing his mind. "But anyways, that's what's going on. I think we should focus on beating Shiratorizawa and try not to make any more enemies."

"Nekoma would make a good ally." Kageyama crossed his arms. "My division knows them well; we often go train in the forest together sometimes."

"Tch." Oikawa snorted. "Just because you can trust one squad doesn't mean you can trust the whole kingdom. Like you guys," Oikawa continued, looking at his boyfriend straight in the eye "you can go train with Nekoma and no one will say anything about it, but I can't go train with them."

"Their king is part of that squad." Kageyama said. "The squad we train with is the king's personal squad. They're not taken-in foreigners like us."

Oikawa's eyes flashed. Kageyama knew that something was up with him, but if Oikawa didn't want to say it, there was no way of getting it out of him. Unless you were Iwaizumi, which Kageyama wasn't.

"Are you coming to bed tonight?" Oikawa gently pushed Kageyama off his lap and stood up himself, stretching.

"No, probably discussing war plans again." Kageyama groaned.

Oikawa nodded. "I'll probably join you this time."
