Just a little Sirius and Remus drabble, because I'm bored and this couple are too addictive.

Pain. That was all Sirius could feel, pain. It coursed through his veins and swam around his head. It lingered in every particle of his existence. Thoughts, memories, noises roared like waves in his mind. The feel of his fathers blows, the screams of his mother as she condemned him to hell, his brothers frightened, helpless whimpers as he watched from the doorway.

He could smell blood, it burned in his nostrils. It was all over him, he could feel it. Curled up alone on his bed Sirius couldn't remember ever feeling so exhausted, so hollow. He felt like a rag doll. A ghost boy. Was he really here, or was he floating somewhere high above?

One name echoed with every throb.

Remus, Remus, Remus.

He wanted Remus. Needed him. Longed to feel his soft breaths on his raw skin and his warm arms enveloping around his trembling bones. Remus could take this pain away, he always did. But it was full moon and Sirius knew that in his current state Remus wouldn't even know his own name.

Sirius cried out, yelping like a wounded dog, a lonely child. He hadn't made a sound throughout the whole ordeal, he had pressed his lips tight as his father had mercilessly advanced on him, he had sneered in his mothers contorted face. He wasn't going to let them win.

But now Sirius was howling and he couldn't stop.

Howling at the moon.

And one name was calling back.

Remus, Remus, Remus.
