Chapter one: Meredith's point of view

"Scalpel, clamp, gauze, suction," Those are the four words a Surgeon lives by. However, not an Intern. That's all we hear, but not what we do. We generally just do charts, which are enough to make your mind go numb, and work in the pit with our residence, and if we're lucky, we get to sit in on an operation.

"Meredith, what are you doing? It's time for rounds, and you know how the Nazi gets when were late"

"Sorry, I was just catching up on some lost sleep, you know what the Nazi said " The on call rooms are for sleeping, sleep when you can"

Christina Yang is my colleague and friend. We started residency together this year, and have been linked together through some type of deep connection ever since.

"That's not what I heard last night; you and Mcdreamy were really getting it on."

"Oh shut up, not like you and Preston haven't been hitting it off"

"How do you know it's Preston? Beep beep beep beep"

"I wish we could turn these pagers off, there so annoying"

" I don't, I love them, they give me the chance to work towards being able to be in a surgery and cut people open"

Christina and I have very different points of view when it comes to surgery. I do it to help people. However for her, surgery is a high that she can't get from anything else. She graduated top of her class, and has the opportunity to witness, and participate in many of the most amazing surgeries in the world, while she was in school.

"I'll catch up with you later" Christina yelled while she sprinted down the hospital hall. It must have been a 911.
