She was so easily manipulated.

She knew it, but that didn't mean she could stop it. She was by no means weak, but she was far from strong. Leaning on others was… well easy. Easier than having to look inside yourself for answers. Easier than being alone, she hated being alone. But leaning had lead to be taken advantage of by the three men in her life that she had needed most.

Part of her despised them with every fiber of her being. How could they! How could they when she loved them?

Part of her couldn't blame them, no matter how wrong it was, it was only human nature to prey on the weak. No it wasn't their fault.

But she despised them because she loved them.

It began with her father so many years ago when he told her stories of the Angel of Music. Manipulating her to believe that there was such a thing. He was trying to comfort her.

But he was manipulating her mind.

Then, it was Erik. Oh Erik… Manipulating her in so many ways. He had said that he was her Angel of Music. He had said that he would protect her. He had said that there was no reason for her to be afraid. Erik had not had life easy as most, he knew no other way to love her.

But he was manipulating her body and soul.

Now Raoul had come. Come like a handsome price on a white horse - two white horses. He had also said that he would protect her. He said there was no Angel of Music, that Erik wanted to harm her. He said he would help smooth out the confusion. He was so boyish and full of life, he knew nothing about hardships and loss. He couldn't help but pity her.

But he was manipulating her heart.

They were all there in her head. Loving her.

Manipulating her.

She was so easily manipulated...
