She was falling, panic took over and she couldn't do a thing. Suddenly she saw a blur coming towards her and she feels a pair of strong arms place themselves behind her back and under her legs. She gasped, it was him! You couldn't mistake those arms that strong grip and the striking hair.
Before she could open her mouth to thank him he set her down and was gone. 'I guess he can't take a break from fighting' she thought. They continued with the mission without another word about what had transpired.
Later that night. . .
Kurama lay in his bed staring at the ceiling. He heard a rap on the window and thought 'what could Hiei possibly want at this hour?'.
He was surprised however when he saw a blue haired ferry girl floating in midair. "Botan" he cried surprised to see her.
"Hello Kurama" she said.
"Not to be rude but what are you doing here?" he asked.
"Well um I wanted to thank you" she replied.
"Thank me?" he said his voice full of confusion.
"For catching me today" she whispered.
"oh" was all he said.
"Well that's all I guess I'll leave now" she said while making her back towards the window.
"Botan, wait!" he said while reaching for her hand. She turned when she felt her hand in his.
"You're welcome" he said suddenly.
Both stayed still, hand in hand for what seemed like an eternity. Kurama broke the silence first. "Would you care to stay for a while?" he asked. "I have been feeling lonely with my family away" he added.
Her eyes widened in surprise but before she knew it she was nodding her head. They made their way downstairs, him leading the way. 'He's so beautiful' she thought, not paying attention she ran into him when he stopped before reaching the kitchen.
"Sorry" she said.
"No problem" he replied.
The two entered the kitchen and he began to fetch some drinks. Soon both were seated across from one another staring into their glasses. Neither spoke for a few minutes. However they both kept sneaking glances at the other before turning away quickly. The two looked up at the same time and found themselves staring into each other's eyes.
'How breathtaking his emerald eyes are' she thought.
'Her amethyst eyes are so beautiful' he thought.
"Kurama", "Botan" they both said at the same time. The two just looked at each other and laughed. Botan spoke first "Kurama I really should be going" she said while standing. She walked to the sink to place her drink down and before she could turn around she felt a pair of strong arms wrap themselves around her waist.
"Botan" he whispered in her ear, sending shivers up her spine. She turned and gasped at how close his lips were to hers.
"Kurama" she said breathlessly but before she could say another word he gently placed his lips on hers. The kiss was short but sweet. He smiled at her and she smiled back.
"You know I might have had an ulterior motive for catching you today" he said.
Her eyes widened in surprise and said "what could that reason be?"
"I wanted to feel your body close to mine" he said with desire in his eyes.
Before she could respond he kissed her again but this time there was a hint of desire. She lifted her arms to move her fingers through his hair and he pulled her closer. They stayed entwined like that for a few minutes until he broke the kiss. She groaned to show her disappointment and he laughed.
"Botan, would you care to stay the night?" he asked.
"Kurama!" she said shocked.
He smiled sheepishly and said "Well?"
"Yes" she said as her cheeks flushed. And with that the two made their way back to his room where they picked up where they left off.
