When Sailor Moon is revealed as Princess Serenity, she is overwhelmed from the memories of passed and present and uses the crystal.

In Tokyo Tower, after the reveal of Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask, Zoicite tricked Tuxedo Mask into giving up the crystals. Instead of letting Sailor Moon free (which was the deal), she threw glass shards to Sailor Moon. Tuxedo Mask protected Sailor Moon and was hit instead.

Sailor Moon raced to Tuxedo Mask's side and cradled him to her lap. The other sailor scouts had entered the room to see the two heroes talking softly.

When he passed out, Sailor Moon was crying. one of her teardrops crystalised and all of the rainbow crystals mergerged into the Silver Imperial Crystal. The crystal shimmered and Sailor Moon transformed into Princess Serenity of the Moon.

Memories of past life as Princess of the Moon returned and to all in the room. Tuxedo Mask had changed into Prince Endymion of Earth, the Princess' forbidden lover.

Then Serenity saw her lover passed out and was overwhelmed with emotion from two lives of losing her lover. She screamed and ththe power of the crystal wiped everything out.
