It was October 10th and for the Hidden Leaf Village it meant several things. First it was the day that the feared Nine Tailed Fox attacked, second was that the Fox was defeated by the Fourth Hokage, Minato. And finally it was the day Minato died sealing the Fox into three new born children. One child was currently running for her life on the day of her birth. She was sprinting down alley ways and turning sharply around well-known corners to throw off her pursuers. But she was tiring quickly after running for most of the night. She finally ended up in the forest surrounding the village. This too was familiar ground for her and she began to get a lead. Then out of nowhere a root tripped her and sent her sprawling to the hard floor. The villagers that had been falling behind now caught up to the young girl. They didn't see the five year old girl with bright blonde hair and dazzling blue eyes that was scared out of her mind, No, they only saw the monster that was contained within her. With this in mind they started to beat her, ignoring her cries they pummeled her with their fists and feet. Some had knives and other sharp things that were used to cut her. After a while they left not caring, probably even glad that the child was at the verge of death.
Though, if anyone had cared to stay they would have witnessed a thin veil of red cover the girl's body like a warm blanket. If that person had looked even closer they would see the cuts and bruises slowly start to mend. The girl sighed quietly fingering the whisker like birth marks on the side of her face as Red fixed her wounds. She called the red blanket Red for a lack of a better name. She didn't know what or where it came from, only that every time she was hurt Red would heal her before disappearing to where ever it came from. Red was the only thing she could rely on to be consist, it had been the only good thing in her life that never changed and was always there. The Old Man or the Hokage as others called him only saw her a few times each year and only to see if she was alive and not dying. Though he always gave her a treat and made her laugh. Then there were the two people from the Ramen Shop who were kind enough to actually serve her the few times she had the money to go there. But they didn't comfort her and she couldn't rely on them every time she got hurt. Sighing again as Red left her with a gentle squeeze to the shoulder she looked up through the leaves to see the sparkling stars. Not wanting to move at the moment she stayed there watching the distant spots of light flicker.
