The Rune Messenger Quest
One fine day in Lumbridge, RoseRed514 strolled along the road, looking for adventure. A nearby musician began to play a sweet song, so she stopped to listen.
"If you rest at my feet, you will be recharged with energy," the musician told her.
"I'll have to remember that," said RoseRed, who liked to run.
After moving on, the young woman visited several shops in town, talking to the owners. On her way to find the cook, she was assaulted by an evil man. (She never got a look to see who he was.) When she awoke, RoseRed found herself face-to-face with the Grim Reaper.
"Am I dead?" she asked.
"No, but you will be respawned without your belongings," he said. "You will have three minutes to return to the scene of your death to retrieve them."
"Well that's not much of a tragedy, since I only had two eggs and a feather to start with," she replied, and walked over to the vortex that took her back to the land of Lumbridge.
This time, she was near the castle, so she went inside. The Duke told her about a simple task she could do by taking a talisman to the Wizard's Tower. Since RoseRed had never met a wizard, and she thought the Duke was nice enough to ask, she agreed to the Rune Messenger's Quest.
Finding her way to the Wizard's Tower was quite a task, but RoseRed made the best of her travels. She ventured into one area, but quickly left when she discovered a vampire was on the loose. She also came across a camp of witches with a talking cow skeleton. Along the way, RoseRed killed a couple of goblins with her bare hands.
"I've got to keep my strength up," she thought.
Finally, she crossed the long bridge to the Wizard's Tower island. She entered the tower and asked several wizards for help but none were the Head Wizard. To find him, RoseRed had to venture down a ladder into the basement. The Head Wizard was happy to have the talisman, but needed help taking some research to Aubrey in Valock. Not wanting to anger a powerful wizard, RoseRed agreed to help.
Valock was an interesting town. RoseRed discovered a bank, where she could keep her possessions, if she had any. She also talked to several people at the Weapons Pratice Area who told her how to get a bow and arrow for free from the Archer.
When she finally found Aubrey in the southeast corner of town, RoseRed greeted him and gave him the research, but he kept getting interrupted by other adventurers asking for a magical spell. Once Aubrey was able to explain, RoseRed realized that these people were being teleported to other places in the world.
"I wonder if I'll ever be able to do that," she thought.
