Disclaimer: I don't own it.

Another little "Anakin and Obi-Wan bonding" fic. Apparently I'm making a series of them? This one is 500 words.

Stargazing

He found Anakin in the star map room, sitting in the middle of the floor. Obi-Wan glanced up and recognized the Coruscant night sky projected on the rounded ceiling.

"You weren't in our quarters," he remarked idly. "I was worried."

"The stars are different here," Anakin said quietly, ignoring the silent question.

"We're in a different part of the galaxy," Obi-Wan replied patiently, moving closer. He could see the unease in his new padawan's silhouette.

He was silent for a moment. "Can you ever see the stars outside?" he asked, his gaze shifting to the obscured window.

"The city is too bright. It masks the starlight."

"Do you have constellations?"

Obi-Wan blinked at the non sequitur. "What?"

"At home – I mean, on Tattooine," he corrected, "we have names for the constellations. The Dragon, and the Seven Sisters, and there's one that looks like a serpent." He looked up at Obi-Wan pleadingly. Obi-Wan sat down next to him, looking up thoughtfully.

"See there, just above the horizon?" he said slowly, "that's a ship."

Anakin sat up straight, craning his neck excitedly. "What class?"

Obi-Wan chuckled. "No, no, I mean an old sailing ship. For the ocean." Anakin looked at him blankly. Desert planet, he reminded himself. "Well, to the right of that, there's a string of seven. That's the Corellia system. We call them the Seven Sisters."

"Is it the same as on Tattooine?"

"Probably. Ah, and there," he remembered suddenly. "That's the Great Bear."

Anakin glanced at him dubiously. "That's a bear?" he asked.

"Of course. See, there's a head, and it kind of has two legs. It's… bear-like."

Anakin frowned at the constellation doubtfully. "It doesn't look like a bear to me. More like a fish," he added thoughtfully.

"A fish." He cocked his head, frowning at the constellation. "You've never seen a fish."

"In lessons, Master Barria showed me a holo of one." The words were spoken with a hint of pride, and wonder. "And that looks like the fish I saw." He added authoritatively, pointing at the string of stars.

"Well, then, since you're such an expert, what's that one?" he asked good-naturedly, pointing to another constellation.

"A speeder bike," he replied instantly. Obi-Wan tried to hide his smile.

"A speeder bike?" he asked thoughtfully, tilting his head and frowning unsurely at the string of stars.

"Yep," he answered simply. Obi-Wan raised an eyebrow doubtfully. Anakin scowled. "See, there's the front wheel," he added, pointing stubbornly at the group on the left.

"If that's a speeder, then what is that?" Obi-Wan asked casually, pointing to a short band of stars next to the "speeder."

Anakin frowned at the constellation, considering very carefully. "A hydrospanner," he replied solemnly. This time, Obi-Wan laughed aloud. Anakin grinned in shy pleasure.

"Well, they can use it to fix the speeder bike," Obi-Wan said mirthfully.

"That's why they're next to each other," Anakin answered with small giggle. They spent another hour in the little room, making up more and more ridiculous constellations.

A/n: Oh, boys. You make me giggle.
