I said that I liked you. I lied.
"I said I liked you. I lied." She said.
Scorpius Malfoy's face crumpled.
"Why Rose?" he asked, "Did you pity me? Is that why you asked me to the Yule Ball?"
"Yes, I pitied you, but because you didn't have the nerve to ask me first. I pitied you because you didn't have the guts to ask me. So I told you I liked you. I lied." Rose replied carelessly.
"We could have gone as friends." He stated coldly, but hurt. "I didn't want a pity date. We could have gone as friends."
"But you obviously didn't want that" she explained. "I didn't want to lose you as a friend. So I said that I liked you. I lied."
"Rose, stop rubbing it in. I get it; I'm not worth the great Rose Weasley's time. I get that you said that you liked me. You lied." Scorpius was trying not to cry.
Rose just smirked. "I said that I liked you. I lied. Scorpius, man up and deal with it."
"I can't Rose, you're the only girl I see!" he said, begging; now the coldness had given way to desperation.
"Prove it, Malfoy!" she challenged.
"Oh, so its last names now, is it Weasley?" he retorts, noticing the slight shock on her face.
"Prove it" she repeated, choosing to ignore his question.
"I don't need to."
Scorpius Malfoy stared at her smugly.
"Really?'
"Yes. You wouldn't have bothered to come tell me that you lied if you didn't know that you're the only one."
A smirk flitted across his otherwise calm features.
"Then maybe this is me trying to convince you to 'see' other girls." She suggested, trying to keep her cool.
"Rose, you should know that that isn't possible. Ever. I know you lied. Well, then I'll be single forever."
She smiled vaguely and stepped closer to him.
"I said that I liked you. I lied."
And Rose Weasley kissed Scorpius Malfoy.
He kissed her back for a moment before pushing her away reluctantly, yet with force.
"Rose, stop it. You don't want me. That's all there is to it."
"Scorpius Malfoy, You really are dense for someone who is second brightest in the year. I said that I liked you. I lied."
Scorpius Malfoy looked like he wanted to break something. Sorrow, to coldness, to anger; his grey eyes expressed them all.
"What the hell Malfoy, you don't hear what I'm leaving unsaid?"
"No Rose, you're leaving it unsaid. That's precisely why I can't hear it."
"Fine. Make me embarrass myself, why don't you" huffed Rose, almost grinning, "I said that I liked you. I lied. Only because I didn't want to tell you that, well, I love you."
Scorpius Malfoy's face lit up. He smirked devilishly.
"Are you happy now Scorpius" asked Rose, clearly irritated.
"Yes, Rose, but since you put me through so much pain and hurt and anguish" his smirk became more pronounced, "you can tell our parents. Both families."
"Dang! I knew I should have gone with the singing Valentine!" and she kissed Scorpius Malfoy again.

Author's Note: I'm not supposed to be writing fanfcition right now, instead I should be working on my book report on Haroun and the Sea of Stories. But this came into my head and I had to type it. This is random and pointless and plot-less and not even remotely fluffy. But that's precisely why I like it. Thanks to Elizabeth Bells, you gave me the idea.
Please review and explain what this story means, because I have no clue!
