Her hair isn't short, her eyes aren't cat-like, she isn't developed yet in certain curves, and she lacks a certain former pink-haired house-keeper's mysterious and sneaky personality.
No - she isn't Haruko, Naota reminds himself as he steals a side-glance of the girl next to him (who had barged into his home half-a-year ago and asked to be their housekeeper, claiming to be Haruko's younger sister), who stands in front of a boiling pot with a small smile on her face. Her pink hair - which is the same light-salmon color as Haruko's - is silky and long, ending at her shoulder blades. Her eyes are a brilliant viridian, sparkling with life and bright with pure happiness, her smile never wavering. Bangs frame her heart-shaped face and flaunt her over-sized forehead, held back by nothing but a red ribbon which is knotted at the top of her head. Naota's lips twitch up into a smile.
She isn't Haruko, he knows. Sakura is gentle and feisty at the same time, with nearly drastic mood swings and a bad temper. Sure, she packs a good punch, but she is a mother when she needs to be. Heck, she is his age; no older that 14.
Sakura lacks everything the old house-keeper had - but the house still feels complete. He feels complete.
And with that thought, the boy smirks and pulls the young house-keeper towards him and into his chest, wrapping his arms around her waist and burying his face in her citrus-scented hair. He can feel her squirming in his embrace.
"Idiot! What are you doing! I need to watch over the food!" She barks, knocking a fist to the taller boy's head. Naota yelps in pain and falls to the floor as he cradles his abused head. He looks up at her with a half-hearted glare and she smirks back at him, hands on her hips in a sassy manner. She shakes her head.
"It's always you, Naota-kun. Why must you always distract me from making my sister's signature mild curry?" And with that, her eyes glint in mischief as he runs off to his room, not missing the spectacular shade of green his face changes into at the mention of curry.
Ignore any grammatical or spelling errors. So this was just a small drabble that came to my mind as I was listening to the FLCL soundtrack the other day; man, The Pillows are awesome-sauce!
I do not own Naruto or FLCL; I just write fanfiction about them.
