MSMF Prompt #13: Death
He weighed all the options, what few there were. The circumstances were quickly becoming grim. The earth rumbled slightly, reminding him that the Dark One Worm was still moving, still cracking out of its shell. Skeleton King had fallen in the egg, so had Mandarin. But the worm was still about to break free.
There was only one viable course of action. He closed his eyes and concentrated, drawing heavily on the Power Primate. Yes, it was still there, despite Skeleton King's attempts to corrupt it. He felt its power flow through his body, weakened though it was from the fight.
Floating up from the rapidly crumbling ground at the edge of the Pit of Doom, he gave himself up to the Power Primate. In the back of his mind he acknowledged the shouts of his companions but it was too late. He was committed to the sacrifice.
With a thought, he floated over the edge into the pit and toward the egg. Plunging into the egg, he shed the heavy metallic mecha-enhancements for the first time since he could remember. Unleashing his inner primate, he sent a part of himself to Chiro and a part to the Super Robot so they could complete the task from outside the egg.
His soul split in three, he began the task of sealing the egg. The Super Robot began to squeeze the split earth back together, while Chiro tried to remove the Skeleton King from this plane of existence.
Meanwhile inside the egg, he tried to destroy the worm from inside but it was too late. The Dark One Worm escaped, but only partially. It was cut off by the Robot's actions, and just its head escaped Shuggazoom and floated into space. Likewise, Skeleton King's body was ripped from his head by Chiro and the worm escaped with just a skull attached to a stalk.
His sacrifice done, death finally claimed Antauri.
