A/N:: This fic was inspired by the tons of rain we've received here today. The title is from a poem, I think.
FanFic 100 Challenge #:: 066- Rain
Lover's Rain
Millions of tiny fingertips seemed to drum rhythmically against the castle roof and windows as water droplets poured down from the pallid sky above. Minerva, feeling the sudden drag of rain-induced lethargy, stretched in a very cat-like manner and removed the shoes from her weary feet. She sunk onto the bed and snuggled down into the cool, fluffy blankets around her. Closing her eyes, she listened as the rain hammered harder and faster until she drifted peacefully to sleep.
An arm sliding across Minerva's waist woke her from a pleasant, unintentionally disregarded dream.
"Albus," she said softly, taking her husband's hands in her own.
"I apologize for waking you," he said before kissing her lightly on the neck.
"Don't," she replied simply.
Minerva reclined into Albus's warm arms as he lovingly stroked her smooth, silky hair. The rain, which had not yet ceased to fall, had begun making its effect on Albus. His eyelids became increasingly heavy as his entire body lay comfortably and contently beside Minerva. He leaned over into her ear.
"Sweet dreams, Min. I love you," he whispered.
Minerva smiled without opening her eyes.
"Albus?"
"Hmm?"
"Don't call me 'Min'."
"Yes, dear."
