During the 1960s and early 1970s, the TV production company Screen Gems used a logo now known as one of the scariest TV idents in the history of the medium. Called the "S from Hell", the logo adorned the end of such shows as Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie, and The Partridge Family.

In this story, Kenny and Dawn from Pokemon (which I don't own by the way) discuss the "S from Hell".

Kenny was watching an episode of The Partridge Family with Dawn. It was not the date night they had anticipated – the restaurant they wanted to go to was booked full – but it was something.

"Kenny, be sure to turn the sound off when the credits come on", Dawn said.

Kenny said, "why, Dawn?"

Dawn said, "this was a Screen Gems show, and that logo gives me the willies."

Kenny said, "I actually think that logo is kind of cool, with the way the filmstrips come together and form the S."

Dawn said, "how could you think something like that is cool?"

Kenny said, "remember, my dad is a famous rock star from the 70s, he introduced me to a lot of stuff from the era Stillwater was popular in. The Partridge Family was a really good show."

Dawn said, "but why did they have to use such scary music on the closing logo?"

Kenny said, "chill Dee Dee, when the credits come I'll gladly turn the sound off. Anything for you my love."

Surely when the credits came, Kenny did turn the sound of the TV off as he promised. The Screen Gems logo played without any sound, which Kenny didn't think was as cool, but since Dawn would have been scared out of her mind, it was the best he could do.

Kenny said, "oh look, I Dream of Jeannie is on next. Wanna watch that?"

Dawn said, "oh sure, remember our deal though."

Kenny said, "you got it Dee Dee."

Dawn said, "I wish you would stop calling me that."

I Dream of Jeannie was another Screen Gems show from the "S of Hell" era.
