Imagine Austria's surprise when he found a locket just lying on the ground, half buried in the soft dirt, looking almost as if it had been thrown (quite forcefully) out of frustration to where it lay now.
He bent over and picked up the small silver chain, closely examining the metal heart attached to it before trying to pry it open only to find it was stuck closed. He tried again, this time using both hands, but was still unable to open it.

There had to be something he could do to open the stubborn little heart. The more he tried and failed, the more Roderich wanted so desperately to get it open. After looking around to make sure no one was around and would walk by then laugh at what he was about to do. Austria took a hold of the little locket and stuck it between his front teeth, biting onto it.

Nothing happened. The locket stayed closed, and Austria continued to bite harder and harder until, finally, he was forced to give up on that idea and took the locket out of his mouth. He looked around one more time to make sure no one had seen him.

Roderich, now getting a little impatient, placed the locket on the ground in front of him and attempted to step on it but it was of no use. The locket seemed like it was melted together, plus Roderich's shoes had too many poorly patched holes to be of much use.

Meanwhile, in a nearby bush, Gilbert, who had been stalking Austria this whole time, was nearly rolling around on the ground in fits of laughter at the other country's misery. He supposed he could probably help Roderich about now. He had gotten enough entertainment for the day. Besides, he was so awesome that surely he'd be able to pry open the shiny locket. Roderich was just a sissy. Gilbert popped out from his hiding place and quietly walked up behind Austria.

"Lemme see it." Prussia said, causing the other country to jump nearly two feet in the air before turning around, his shock turning into irritation in mere seconds. "What do you want?" Roderich snapped. Gilbert held up his hands defensively. "Calm down, Specs. I was just…passing by and saw your little dilemma and figured I'd be awesome enough to come help you." Roderich glared at the albino. "I don't...need any help."

"Uh-huh. Sure you don't. That's why you were gnawing on the thing a few minutes ago, right?" Gilbert chuckled while Roderich turned a light shade of red from being caught doing something so ridiculous though quickly composed himself.

"Okay…fine. You can try to get it open but good luck. I'm not even sure it's possible for this stupid locket to open at all." Austria said, handing Prussia the small locket. Prussia took it in his hands and opened it without putting much effort into it at all. He looked down at it for a moment, chuckling, and then looked back at Austria.

"It's empty. Laaaaame~!"
