Chapter 1 | Restoration | Memories of a Fairytale
-Crack- Another loud blast of thunder. I suppose it was to be expected. A storm like this was bound to happen. After a drought period of 4 months, the threating storm had finally broken. Everyone had hoped and prayed for this night to come. The island was in desperate need for the rain, it had almost turned to a desert, not a tropical island. "Why?" a brunette, curled up in bed under the blankets asked himself. He also wanted rain, badly, but not in this form. The simple reason was that he hated storms. Not for the common reasons, like the scary lightning which threatened to take someone's life away everytime it struck, or the loud thunder that shook all the windows of the house, but rather because, no less than 3 years ago, a big storm not only destroyed their home, the island and brought heartless to the world. The worst of all things was that it separated him and his best friend for nearly 2 years. His best childhood friend. The silver haired....Saviour.
¬Crack!¬ Another loud blast. He curled up in a ball even tighter. He wished he could see his friend again. He wished he would just come through the door, just to comfort him. His friend knew how much he hated storms. Groaning, the blue eyed brunette risked a peak and rolled over to check the time. The alarm clock, a present from Kairi, his other best friend. Well you couldn't exactly call them best friends. She was more like obsessed over him. 11:18PM. He stared blankly for a while, thinking how she had saved him from being a heartless. A dark and shadowy creature without a heart. Also, in the process, she had created his nobody twin, Roxas. A nobody, a result from a heartless being created, was like his twin brother he had always wished he had.
¬Meanwhile, in an unknown location¬
..."Yes Sir. He will" ... " But Sir, how are we going to log him in as one anyway?" ... "Project alpha? Of course I still have it"... "Ok, I see. And you are sure there is no other way?" ... " Ok. Understood." The scientist put the phone down, and quickly typed a few commands on the keyboard. It loaded and open a program.. A black screen appeared with a single green flashing cursor appeared. He typed "Execute", and then with a moment of hesitation, pressed enter.
"Executing P.A Restoration program. Please stand by for Password Confirmation..." the computer said after a while. "Password required"
"XIII", the scientist spoke the letters slowly and clearly.
"Password accepted. Now loading restoration. Restoration program loaded. Decrypting data......Done. Restoration at 2%"
There was nothing more anyone could do. Project Alpha was reactivated.
