Once upon a time.

Those words were petty.

No such thing as fairy tales.

-

Sakura wrapped her worn and ripped headband around her head to hold her hair in place.

"Sakura… I'm sorry!" A groan from her close companion, Naruto, grabbed her attention. She frowned at him and replied in a firm tone.

"I don't care about that anymore. I made up my mind, though. A few months awhile from the village will never harm anyone."

Cerulean eyes peered at her in sympathy and watered up. "But-!"

"No buts. Naruto, I choose this and nothing will change my mind, stop whining," She stuck her tongue out at him in good humor, but neither seemed like laughing at the moment. She heaved her bag over her shoulder and gave a small grin to cover an awkward silence. "Don't worry."

After a day of traveling southeast from Konoha, Sakura felt fresh. It was good to be out in the woods at nights; the animal sounds carrying with the breeze, the moon peeking through the gaping holes of the leaves.

She watched as her shadow leaped underneath her at the ground. It was only through small filtered moon light, but Sakura was comforted by it all the same.

Stopping in a small town, she found a nice, quaint hotel. She ordered a small room for overnight and walked up the stairs at a comfortable pace.

Opening the door to her one-bed room, she was amazed at the quality. The bed was covered in chocolate brown sheets with matching pillows. The comforter was a peach-white color with a brown design of swirls. A plant stood next to an alarm clock on the nightstand. There was a bathroom, which held the closet, to the left and a window with a beautiful view.

That night she had the most peaceful sleep in three years.

-

"Thank you for your stay!" The old woman who owned the nice hotel waved to Sakura as she left. Sakura gave a small wave back with a big smile. The breakfast in bed was unexpected, but it was not unwelcome.

Sakura took slow steps out of the town, enjoying the scenery.

A toy and candy store stood next to the hotel and she could see a group of children staring through the window, salivating. And across the street was a blacksmith. There were some pretty nice things for sale and she vowed next time she visited this village, she found out named Yakitu, she would buy some weapons for her friends and self there. Walking past more buildings, she watched two girls her age flirting with someone.

Black hair, spiked, black onyx eyes. Blue shirt.

"Sasuke," She mumbled, putting her head down. She walked into a wall. The girls snickered at her and she just deepened her frown. The she noticed what building she crashed into, a hot spring. "Oh… Why how nice of you, God."

She stepped into the door and looked at the prices. Legitimate. She paid and walked into the back room, stripping from her clothes. Taking a towel, she stepped into the private girls hot-spring, happy it wasn't unisex.

-

"Goodbye, Yakitu," She said, and jumped to the trees again. With a sigh, she though of the differences in her 'oh so beloved' Sasuke and Naruto. Both did stupid stuff to her, so she couldn't place it on the shoulders of one.

The reason she left was because Naruto said something idiotic in front of the elders, making them wary of her. 'Something about how he wants to save Sasuke because he is our friend and I… loves him…'

I need a break from Konoha was what she said to Tsunade and Naruto after the councilors left. And she was lucky enough, that she finally after all her years got a break in life.

So… I have no idea where I am going with this. Like it? So… Help?
